So huh... what weapon build did you guys go for
Hendrik? I just got him in my party and suddenly I have 73p to spend lol
No but always save your peps for Hallelujah + Electro. It helped me not grind in the end since you need to level them to 99 each
They have to take something from you given that you keep all your progress upon getting wiped, though it feels more odd now that there are auto saves.
The options aren't described very well. The gold penalty is there because you're not really reloading - you get to keep your progress including any experience and items gained, which is what the series has always done. The bottom option to load from an autosave is the only one that functions like a normal reload in that it resets all your progress.
This is why the game has banks, you can store any excess gold there in increments of 1000. It's always best to leave your gold there before you leave town.
Those little stories is what I love about DQ.
No, you're good! I wanna complete this thoroughly, so your percentage is right on the money for me.Yeah I thought the fact that I was including the post game in my percentage was a given. Sorry.
So...
so the events after that, the one with Luminary returning the sword to Yggdrasil, it's assumed that Erdwin is alive already (past was changed by Serenica) and Calasmos still happened? Also Yggdragon became the Dragon King right? Biggest problem with the whole Loto arc has basically no progress in technology lol
Honestly the game is so vague about how time travel works that I try not to think too much about it. Unless I'm missing something, you finding the sword of light at all on Yggdrasil doesn't make sense because it can't be there unless you travel back in time yourself, kill Calasmos and help Serenica, which are way too many specific requirements, even if we assume "they were always meant to happen hence the sword was there from the start".
Hell, if you get technical, OG Erdrick in DQ3 doesn't inherit any sword of light let alone get one from Yggdrasil, though DQ1 hero does inherit a specific sword from him (sword of kings)... The Supreme sword of light is made with the sword of king's too, which you do forge in III so you could kinda justify the connection.
According to dragonquest.wikia, there are over 700 monsters in the game (which is a lot higher than the amount I see in the info screen in-game, I'm guessing the max goes up later) so I'm using that as a rough estimate of how far I've gotten. Just got party members 6 & 7 on my team and a little over 100 monster types defeated with maybe 20-25 hours played (Hard Enemies + No Shops + No Grinding) so I'm kind of thrilled. Turn-based JRPGs as good as this don't come around that often, but at least this looks like it's set to last me a LONG time.
What spots should I look for new recipes? Besides running around after bookshelves, I mean
So, brehs...any tips on where to look for equipment recipes? I've been looking for all bookshelves around but I feel like I am missing a lot of options...
So what's up with the weather cows? I assume this is a DQ running gag?
Is new game+ common for Dragon Quest games? Is it a possible addition to Dragon Quest XI in the future?

Has anyone tested if 14 equipped Bunny Tails give a higher droprate compared with only 8 equipped Bunny Tails?
Aww, that's a bummer. :(No. However massive post-game content is common since an SNES title.
Don't bother attempting debuffs on bosses that move 3 times in a turn, it'll wear off very quickly and not worth the effort and risk. Just focus on keeping everyone alive with buffs and heals, while attacking the boss while you can.
Welcome to Dragon RNG Quest!
I personally relied on Poison mostly, but the fight will be a lot easier if you pep up a few of your characters before battle (I know this is annoying and I personally couldn't be bothered). "Lightning and Tundra" is a great pep skill early game.
Don't fall into that trap!Oh no... I just went back to the Casino in Porta Valor for the first time in like 20 hours and there's a new helmet that has amazing stats but it's 500 000 tokens....ughhhhhhhh
I think we should give up the idea of the game receiving any kind of post-launch support. For DQ we're only getting what was already done for the japanese audience (plus additional tweaks, sans passwords and freebies), and anything new would likely be just stuff added to the Switch version, and even then I doubt whatever that content is will be available in other platforms.

I think Opa-Pa's answer got the spirit. The game is vague you don't need to think too much, especially those involved in time-travel.
However there are something you can figure out easily, like whether yggdrasil is the dragon lord in DQ1 (the answer is no, see here #9104).
To explain Erdwin was alive but Calasmos still happened ----- you can use history converging theory to explain, see #8897 . For example, Erdwin was alive because of your effort, however Calasmos revived through another route so the story of DQ11 still exist; the only difference was how Erdwin died. But again, you don't need to think too much about this.
Regarding the sword that DQ1 hero inherited, actually it could be anything; in NES DQ3 end, the equipments on your hero were what would show in the ending scripts.
I notice that in EN ver. they changed a lot of text. In JP ending, it revealed that Roto, this very title(yes, it's a title, not an actual name in DQ3) ,was originated from DQ11.
Without spoiling anything, all I can say is yes.Ok, I'm about 6 or so hours in and have to know, what are all the little ghosts everywhere? Is that something I'll find out later?
So what's up with the weather cows? I assume this is a DQ running gag?
Greatswords with Cutting Edge / Unbridled Blade and lots of Str/Atk up passives. So what exactly is a good MC build? Right now he's not being very useful besides having high defense.
Only those in the front are effective. You can easily sense this mechanism by equipping Erik with pirate's pendant. Whether he is in front or not will make a big difference.

What equipments should I buy on casino to get the trophie? lol
Also, reached level 99 with all of the characters but for some of them I couldn't get enough points to pick all the abilities. Is that normal?
In front, you mean one of four main active party or in front mean the very leftmost position on the active party?
While I am at it, how can we check Accolades that we haven't accomplished yet?

No way to check unaccomplished accolades in-game though. You need a guide.(like that spreadsheet)
If you go greatsword with him he can absolutely be the strongest physical attacker in the game. Dual sword offers good dps with screen-clearing utility, very useful in many situations. Sword and shield...... hmmm well I don't personally use it, since I use him as a good/great physical attacker that can also heal.

Hendrik? I just got him in my party and suddenly I have 73p to spend lol
Really? I thought dual weilding Erik was the best attacker in the game? Give him 2 of those earring knives, divide and he can hit an enemy 12 times in one move. It usually garuntees I kill a metal enemy if it doesn't run after the first turn.
What? That's stupid as hell. How can a completionist knows which to pursue then? That's a strange decision.
How's the harder enemies hard mode? Thinking of restarting and giving it a go since I'm only like 5 hours in and the game has been really easy. But then I see many saying it's extremely hard. So would you say that the hard mode needs lots of grinding or can you get by with just some grinding and good use of strategy?
Anyone have the gif version of this puff puff?
I think it's time to put an end to that DQVIII imagery for what puff puff really is.
