This shit is fucking nuts.

Seems like some sort of cosmic justice for stealing Garland's seat.

If he is a serial offender, he should withdraw himself... Because after Flake, there only needs to be one more deflector. And if there are MORE than 2 claimants then it's well beyond possible that he doesn't get voted in.

Even if Dems take the Senate in November, the GOP still has through December to confirm a Justice.

If McConnell tries pushing that through in a truly lame duck senate when he wouldn't even hear a justice nominated by a president with over a year left in his term, I don't know if I'd be able to handle it.

It'll be weird seeing Aventatti go full court press ASAP, considering his game with Cohen was to just meter things out slowly

We're not sure how the other justices would vote, but if Kavanaugh is the only nominee they can find with this opinion then I'm going to assume it's unpopular even among conservative judges.

Republicans wouldn't be pushing so hard for an anti-Roe v Wade/presidential immunity judge unless they had verbal confirmation that one or more judges were on board. It simply doesn't make sense to expend the political capital otherwise.

Mitch McConnell is overly cautious. He doesn't bring things to a vote unless the votes are assured. Which is why he flatly stated that Kavanaugh will be confirmed. The hemming and hawing of Collins and Murkowski and Sasse is just for show, unless Brett withdraws he's going to get in.

We all already know Clarence Thomas keeps a MAGA hat at home.

I meant Mark Judge partaking, not Kavanaugh.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news...rett-kavanaughs-college-years-deborah-ramirez

I can't stand by and watch him lie." In an interview with The New Yorker, she said, "Mark told me a very different story." Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman. Rasor said that Judge seemed to regard it as fully consensual. She said that Judge did not name others involved in the incident, and she has no knowledge that Kavanaugh participated. But Rasor was disturbed by the story and noted that it undercut Judge's protestations about the sexual innocence of Georgetown Prep.

Another woman who attended high school in the nineteen-eighties in Montgomery County, Maryland, where Georgetown Prep is located, also refuted Judge's account of the social scene at the time, sending a letter to Ford's lawyers saying that she had witnessed boys at parties that included Georgetown Prep students engaging in sexual misconduct. In an interview, the woman, who asked to have her name withheld for fear of political retribution, recalled that male students "would get a female student blind drunk" on what they called "jungle juice"—grain alcohol mixed with Hawaiian Punch—then try to take advantage of her. "It was disgusting," she said. "They treated women like meat."

Holy shit at Mark Judge's ex-gf relating that story of him and a group of friends fucking an inebriated girl

I had former friends that attempted to do this and wanted me to join in when I was in college. I put a stop to it, it fucking pisses me off that people that are supposed to be leaders are incapable of doing the same. Why do we even have a country if this is what we get?

What has transpired in the last few hours changes everything, even the most cynical among us have to admit.

He *did* have the votes.

Stopping Kavanaugh from being nominated as SCOTUS will be the first real victory after 2016. Let see if Dems can pull it off.

All of you getting all delighted with that Avenatti tweet better think real hard about the consequences if he's fucking around for his own gain at a time like this. The implications for victims of sex crimes and their credibility is at stake and I don't trust something like that in the hands of a narcissist.

Yeah, f\second allegation could have easily been dismissed like the first one, but the whole gang rape situation is going to be a brisge too far for a few Republicans.

His email appears to correspond with some of the details reported in the New Yorker piece, although his allegations are much more severe.

The biggest red flag being that someone with such critically important information going to Avenatti is a bit bizarre. The biggest law firms on the planet would take up such a case instantly, why him?

I think everyone realizes that but Avenatti brought the receipts multiple times now with the Stormy Daniels case. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for that reason alone, he may be a prick in his own right but hes a major reason all of the Cohen stuff came to light.

Because hes willing to take on Trump and Republicans and has been in the spotlight getting shit done for Stormy Daniels for months now?

People trust Avanetti with leaks, because he's a showman and doesn't out his sources. It's fairly obvious that he's been getting information he shouldn't have for most of the year. The Cohen banking information and the Cohen consultant payments were people inside government institutions dropping leads on his desk. Illegally in the former case.

Yeah, he has the power to blow this up on both sides. Honestly I wish it was any other lawyer besides him.

This is really escalating quickly now, it's going to get much harder from this point on for the gop to continue supporting him.

Avenatti's reality tv bullshit is gross considering we're talking about allegation of gang rape. If he has evidence he should produce it immediately.

I mean, I know we all want to like Avenatti because "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" or something, but the dude comes off as shady and seems to feed off of the attention he gets. In any case, we all know that the GOP has no moral compass and will absolutely push for the confirmation of Mr. No-Means-Yes-And-Yes-Means-Anal. I don't believe the new allegations will change any of their votes.

the republicans must have known about some of this right? why didn't they just, you know, select a candidate who is not a sexual predator
While conservative jurists willing to repeal Roe vs. Wade are a dime a dozen, conservative jurists who are willing to do that and hold extreme views about the latitude of executive power and are almost certainly fully bought and paid for are much, much rarer.

He doesn't out his sources at all. If he got questions like that all it means is that he already has answers and will go to court with them if he has to. He may be Vain but the man doesn't bluff without shit to back himself up.

Its how he blew Cohen and Trump up in court. He bluffed them into slipping and then hit them with information he had gotten from sources inside the government and tax offices that were given to him to hit back.

He is going to wait until his Client wants to go public or somebody slips up enough so he can dunk on them.
