Did this surprise you? I am not surprised at all. In fact I was just waiting for a similar confirmation that is all. If Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito, the old pals of Kojima whom used to see everyday when he goes to work and hangs out with are not in, who else would be? Masahiro Ito already worked on the connecting bridge which is MGS Survive and now Yamaoka is in and must be there for a long time (the musical themes we heard in the trailers are very reminescent of Silent Hill and his work).
I believe Forssell is still working on the game. Maybe there will be two composers for Death Stranding? We'll see in a couple days. Because if this is true, that'll be amazing.
A while ago, Kojima also tweeted a picture of himself and Idris Elba. And Kojima has also been retweeting a lot of stuff with Ryan Gosling in it (more recently the film First Man, which deals with Neil Armstrong and the moon landing. The years for the movie span from 1961 all the way to 1969, close to MGS 3 in terms of the 1960s.)
Keep in mind as well the Kojima Productions movie logo posted in the OP which is also set on the moon. The "origin story" of Kojima Productions new mascot.
In fact Kojima is working with multiple musicians and bands in this game: Low Roar, Silent Poets, Slowdive and T.A.T.U with the latters just waiting to be officially confirmed soon (T.A.T.U song Silent Hills has even the silent hill theme so mostly Yamoka composed it).
The game itself has 2 directors who are Kojima and Del Toro in different degrees of involvement. Jungi Ito is involved mostly in the scary grotesque designs of things and Masahiro Ito is mostly involved in the design of meaningful symbolic stuff like the monsters: those figures that look like the MGS Survive ones he did, and the demon war machines that he kept tweeting continously, Yoji Shinkawa is involved in real character designs like always. So they game has 3 art designers.
Why 2 great sound and music directors can't be in? Ludvig is mostly occupied with the war action themes and realistic sounds while Yamaoka is handling the scary sounds and the atmospheric creepy and moving music.
Also, like I said in my previous post, just check whom Kojima is following in his twitter you will get an idea who might be in the game. The early leaks confirmed Lindsay Wagner and Léa Seydoux, now Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Idris Elba (btw in the E3 trailer, me and many noticed the voice of the first person who is contacting Sam is Idris Elba, the one before the actor who plays Guillermo Del Toro character starts talking and both are supposed to be support characters according to the same leaks and this is not far fetched because they are both supporting him in the game), Cumberbatch, Gilian Anderson, Blake Lively and many more may be in the game. One thing is sure is that Ron Perlman is in the game since Guillermo Del Toto is mostly suggesting the actors and Perlman is his mascot actor that he puts in almost every movie. Kojima is following him. So you get the idea.
One of the leaks suggested a very important actor that Kojima is big fan of and that no one should expect which will constitute a huge surprise in video games. I bet he is Hugh Jackman. Just Kojima tweets. To get an idea how obssessed he is with him.
