Honestly I think the Hyrule Warriors characters would be fine as Koei Tecmo reps along side Ryu Hyabusa.

They would represent their most popular franchise being Warriors and Hyrule Warriors is a massively popular game that's been released on 3 systems.

Plus the problem with using actual Warriors characters is that from my knowledge the Warriors games use actual historical figures which would be fine and could still be considered Warriors characters but I think people would be just as happy to have Linkle, Cia, and Lana.

Their closest analog is Geno but to be honest Hyrule Warriors characters would be way more fun to have in Smash than Geno ever would and represents the company that they're from really well and represents their biggest franchise. Unlike Geno who's been in less, done less, and his own game is far from being an actual Square Enix staple.

I like Cia and it even....kind of...makes sense that she's ~seductress~ since its her wanting to bone link personified. Turning darkskinned was, however, worthy of an eye-roll into sideye combo.

I'm glad Legends brought her back and resolved her story.

And no one ever really mentions them when talking about the OCs but Wizzro is a neat play on Wizzrobes and I like Volga.
I liked Wizzro. Volga just made me want Onox.

Hyrule Warriors was published by Koei Tecmo in its native Japan. It's technically an original Koei Tecmo game that uses characters licensed from Nintendo. It's most likely not going to be referenced in Smash Bros. at all.

I mean, if we can get a Fatal Frame trophy I don't think HW or FEW getting a trophy or two is that unlikely. I wouldn't expect anything beyond that.

Hopefully we can at least get HW and FEW tunes. Those soundtracks are legit fantastic.

To be fair Cia turns good at the end and remains dark skinned.
Doesn't change the premise of the character.

I don't even think the two are separable. It's a common trope of exoticism.

Y'all are free to like the HW cast. I'm not better than anyone because I can't stomach it. Particularly in the case of Cia, I know this is the type of thing that would annoy me more than others.

There's only one option for a Warriors rep.

Considering we got a Captain Video trophy and a Rayman set of trophies, I feel like talking with KT to put in trophies for the OCs and designs should be comparatively trivial.

I dunno how music factors into this. Most of HW & FEW's ost are remixes of Zelda & Fire Emblem tunes, so I'm not sure how the rights on that are handled. Co-ownership?

I didn't play FEW, but I remember the OST of HW being mostly original except for stuff like boss themes.
There might be more original tracks than I think in HW (FEW absolutely has a ton of remixes of map themes). I think I assumed that a lot of the map themes were remixes of their respective maps' origins.

Ah, it suddenly matters now when people doesn't even raise their eyebrows like a month or two months ago. I guess people are getting paranoid by box theory now.
the funny thing is the theory is already a little off, seemingly?
The CG trailer & isabelle's updates were done on separate days and I think that might have been the original plan.

Put a Fatal Frame character in smash. It'd be the first horror series with a character in smash.
yeah i'd be down with that just because the character would be quirky and also it would put a spotlight that, hey! we own this! It's ours. Maybe....*slides Fatal Frame Games over hte table* buy them this time?????

I'm still confident Dixie will be in the base game. It's just a matter if she will be an Echo or can be a semi clone.

I'm pretty confident she'll be a semi because I'm pretty sure Isabelle was going to be an Echo too and Isabelle and Dixie were probably planned as Echo Fighters but got upgraded over time.

I'm at the point with Dixie where I wouldn't be surprised if she does or doesn't make it in. Also man, so much vitriol over Steve. The meltdown would certainly be memorable if he was to get in

The sad part about any lead up to the release of a new Smash Bros, is that inevitably that many people won't get the fighter they predicted or wanted. Hop onto Smash boards and you see a whole bunch of people certain that Isaac, Elma, Shantae, or Dixie will be in the final roster. I doubt all those are happening and I wouldn't be surprised is none of those happen.
