WHY WHY WHY do you still have to mash X to run like you're inflating a fucking bicycle tire? Have Rockstar not played a game since the 80's?
The reason is simple. Because it's all about the combination of a VERY robust foundation with extremely high fidelity, AND all this extra "radiant", random, systemic stuff.
In Skyrim or Fallout 4 that foundation is not nearly as impressive and the lack of polish and granularity, nullifies a lot of the impact the radiant and systemic stuff could have had.
It's one thing to do to it in Bethesda RPG, which excel at such things kind of at the expense of most everything else like combat and animations and storytelling outside side missions. Another to do it in a non-RPG open world action game with this level of detail and graphics and voiced dialogue, along with the kind of individual interactions mentioned in previews, and granular aspects and small details like contextual dialogue depending on whether you're sober versus drunk or near an NPC versus farther away, wet mud drying on clothes in the sun, different kill cams depending on your moral standing, and so on
Rockstar games are made by so many people on such a big budget. Things like writing or mission design likely have nothing to do with the, uh...dynamic shrinkage system.A lot of it sounds cool, but holy superfluous detail, Batman. Kind of off-putting, honestly. Like, the horses testifies change with the weather.........? Ok? What difference does this kind of stuff make to whether or not the game is good?
I like cool details and stuff, don't get me wrong, but I hope, like, that the writing in this is good and the mission design isn't shitty (like it very much was in GTA V). I hope that stuff - which is still the most important stuff - doesn't suffer because of time wasted on... bullshit that's only really there to brag about the technology, to be blunt.
Ah thanks.Jumping while aiming in RDR and GTA lets you do an combat roll. A few reviews mentioned that the combat roll is still in this one, too. Presumably done the same way.
What about PC modders who remove those limits??? WHAT THEN?!Glad they make kids off limits btw to the sick shit people would try in this game. This is a good choice by R*.
None of the previews spoke of it?
I don't know - does anyone know the answer to this?
Time to freeze.PC version will be announced after the release of the next gen ports.
- You can pet dogs. Those dogs won't bark at you again if you see them.
- You can buy newspapers which will cover events that occur throughout the story.
No joke! These all sound like ideas Fable-era Molyneux would hype. Bloody hell this game's expensive and detailed.
That's ridiculous in the best way...No joke!
You can also enter every building and open every drawer, cupboard, luggage etc. in the game. You can also pick up and inspect every item in the game like some kind of Western next-gen Shenmue!
Oh, absolutely!!
Truly immersive gameplay would mean getting shot in the leg once prevents you from walking for at least three to six in-game months.
Reposting myself from earlier.
Also for all of you worried about the physics, comparing it to GTA V, it is important to remember that Euphoria in GTA V was simply dialed down and partially disabled in some files.
When you re-activate these settings in the files you will find that the GTA V version of the Rage engine actually contains more Euphoria options than both IV, Red Dead and MP3.
Here's a short video of my new melee system alpha, with some of the more "exotic" behaviors re-activated.
So knowing how packed GTA V was with Euphoria behavior settings and params, I have NO fear that RDR2 will be even more nuanced and sophisticated.
Fuck, it sounds amazing, it will be hard waiting for a 60 FPS versión (PC or next gen).
Fuck..knew R* would disappoint hereDamn. The GI impressions go against the Max Payne comparison and said it's closer to Red Dead 1 shooting
Why do people calling the stats stuff here survival mechanics? Having stats drops because of not sleeping or eating in a while (or having a stat increase from eating) isn't survival mechanics, anymore than eating food in Fallout to get a stat boost is survival mechanics.Hope the game finds a way to make the survival mechanics fun.
Think if they balance it just right in between gamey and realism it'll be ok.
Yeah but we aren't sure if Rockstar still have the Euphoria license for RDR2. We know they have their proprietary ragdoll system but we're yet to see it in action.
Considering how many impressions have compared the shooting to Max Payne, it sound like RDR's shooting with Max Payne 3 design (ie kill cams, the gun switching, dual wielding, the feel of shooting and bullet impacts, etc)
Kind of concerned at the lack of gameplay footage for a game that comes out in like a month.
Tbh, I just want the control responsiveness and aiming not to suckConsidering how many impressions have compared the shooting to Max Payne, it sound like RDR's shooting with Max Payne 3 design (ie kill cams, the gun switching, dual wielding, the feel of shooting and bullet impacts, etc)
What exactly were you expecting? Shooting during bullet time dives? Running around dodging bullets without taking cover?
1 video doesn't discredit what he said. He said "The lack of".You must have missed the gameplay video that released over a month ago.
Exactly. It's in the feel. Max Payne's aiming wasn't as janky with shitty ass deadzonesTbh, I just want the control responsiveness and aiming not to suck

Forgot to ask...
Are the previews mostly positive about the graphics?

lol, GTA V sold gangbusters on PC, so unless Rockstar hate money, it's coming to PC
