That's exactly what I'm saying - Sonic, Cloud, Ryu, Snake, they were all extraordinarily significant Japanese games for a worldwide audience.
Sonic had the console wars and was the first time Nintendo's place as top dog was ever threatened,
Ryu is the face of fighting games and among Capcom's biggest IPs, and kickstarted a genre that breathed new life in arcades, even in the West,
Cloud and Snake were a twin force that changed the way people thought about storytelling and political messages in games, and helped bring about the first time Nintendo actually lost a console war,
and all of them, again, are Japanese, belonging to Japanese companies. Additionally, all of them are owned by multiplatform companies.
Minecraft is a gigalith of Western gaming who would require getting Microsoft's permission to using their characters in a Nintendo game, rather than the other way around. Sure it's popular in Japan, but it's not Japanese and still belongs to Microsoft in the end.

Yeah, that's why I'm more OK with Steve getting in than any Dragon Quest representation. At this point, that asshole isn't getting money from Minecraft any more. Sugiyama would be getting money from Smash if DQ music got in.

At this point the only way to stop him is if the next character is the Pokemon rep and it isn't Incineroar especially considering that's the one character alongside Ken that he's confident about.
Nah it's gotta be one of the ones he specifically deconfirmed. He could easily backtrack on Incineroar.

He probably assumed he was asked if he wanted Sora in Smash, but people were reading it as something else.
It's possible that he deleted it because he realized he was making fans think Sora was in Smash, but he's not.
i'm telling myself this so I don;t go through the crushing disappointment if Sora isn't in.
I would lean strongly towards this being the case here.

The main negative about Sora in Smash is that Utada Hikaru won't let them use Simple and Clean. Can you imagine KH representation without Simple and Clean?
Didn't we use the argument for Dante that if his producer was so willing to talk about Dante not being in Smash on Twitter it means he wasn't in the game?

Worth noting is that Hashimoto signed up for Twitter last month, and with all due respect, he's pretty old.
He seems new to this stuff and and I don't know if he really understands the ramifications of doing Twitter posts so I wouldn't take posting the tweet/removing the tweet as indication for... well, anything. All we know now is he thinks it'd be cool to see him in Smash.

I'd totally be down for Sora, even if I don't think he's that likely.
But hypothetically speaking, if Sora were to be in Smash, what songs do you think would be on his stage? He wouldn't get much, if Cloud is any indication, but Rowdy Rumble and The Encounter would be must-haves IMO.

I found it now.
Also he commented on Castlevania Collection, Simon (and Snake I think), and another few things first before DasVergeben so I'm positive that he piggybacked on those stuff but I will give DasVergeben the credit for Isabelle for sure, and 7th Pokemon that weren't "Decidueye, Lycanroc and Mimikyu".
Thirteenth Struggle is a must alongside those two. I'd also love it if Destati and The Other promise made it in. Obviously we won't get any Utada or Disney songs.
I think there would be a decent chance we would get a decent KH selection. Yoko Shimomura is already a part of the sound team. I imagine as much of the KH original stuff would be in the game. Hopefully the HD collection remasters would be used.

Basically a new leaker supporting Vergeben. Vergeben moving Minecraft speculation in a direction hinting at Steve.
Otherwise, it's as quiet as Lucas having a family reunion.
