Think of this deal.

$90-120
2 controllers, but 4 ports.
20 games
No online, no expansion, no rumble, memory card integrated to the console enough to save all games. no VMU minigames avaliable, Memory card is digital.

Potential 20 games

1- Sonic Adventure
2- Cannon Spike
3- Project Justice
4- Plasma Sword
5- Skies of Arcadia
6- Sega rally
7- Tech Romancer
8- Sonic Adventure 2
9- Evolution
10- Virtua Striker 2
11- Crazy Taxi 2
12- Jet Set Radio
13- Power Stone 1
14- Power Stone 2
15- Blue Stinger
16- Hidden and Dangerous
17- Ready to Rumble
18- Chu Chu Rocket
19- Space Channel 5
20- Record of lodoss war

The Higher price mark is due to the more beefy hardware and the selection of games, also coasting around the offer of the PS1 classic that was recently revealed. a Dreamcast mini would actually be considerably stronger hardware, and 4 controller ports plus HDMI i would imagine would push the price up.

Enthusiasts only have nostalgia for the Dreamcast lmfao

There is no overlap between people buying NES Classics and Dreamcasts

Wait, there was a Record of Lodoss War game for the Dreamcast? Also I would say Phantasy Star Online should be on there, even without the online in it, it's still a great game.

The Dreamcast did not even sell when it came out so no.

I love that console so I would buy it but no one else would.

I mean I'd buy one because I love the dreamcast, but it sold 9M so I don't imagine there'd be a big nostalgia factor helping it sell.

$100 for 20 fairly large Dreamcast games? That's a lot of mass-produced flash memory. The margins would make it not worth it.

I was not a Dreamcast guy, but that actually a plus for me as I didn't get to play most of those games, so I will get one.

You guys are really buying into these toy consoles. They are fleecing you guys with nostalgia. I'd rather they came out with an ultimate collection or digital library than overcharge for plastic and games. How about we don't encourage this behavior from publishers?

But we all know what should be happening now...

Where's Skies of Arcadia HD, Sega?! Preferably with the Gamecube story additions but with the vastly superior Dreamcast ost.

I'd love a Saturn classic first, but I'd definitely buy a Dreamcast classic/mini. Needs Capcom VS SNK and Street Fighter III 3s though.

Seriously this.

Give me a 20 in 1 Dreamcast classic for current systems game.

I'd hope so if only so that we can get more interest in a new Jet Set and Powerstone games.

No soul calibur, virtual tennis, shenmue, or grandia 2 in your list.

Thread is disappointing.

Having said that, it'd be day one for me regardless.

The DC mini would likely be cheaper than chasing down the console and legit physical copies of all of these games.

No - I think people identify with the DC library even less than Saturn, and it hasn't been long enough to have sufficient nostalgia factor. They were only making games for the goddamn thing for two years.

I say this as someone who just got my dreamcast out and have been enjoying some Ecco and Virtua Fighter 3tb (two games not on your absurd list!)

Sega has been dealing with a terrible manufacturer for the Genesis flashback thing, so no. Until they get a better partner, a DC mini would be a shit, half-assed product.

Make the games available on a platform I already own and maybe I'd get that but no.

not going to have like 7 mini consoles sitting around, don't like the clutter personally. As for the market at large just don't think it'd do great but have been wrong before

I think I would prefer an all in one emulation box that covers Mater System to Dreamcast. Load it up with ~10 games per generation, implement a store front for more ports and put up some servers for online play/online local coop. I would buy it.

It would sell to the very small hardcore contingency of Dreamcast fans but the majority of people probably don't even know what a Dreamcast is.

I rather sega make a console that's capable of playing games from multiple sega systems. Have it play Saturn, Dreamcast, and genesis. That would be great.
