Sony really fucked up with the design of the PS3.
Even their servers today are PS3 hardware, something like 8 PS3s on each server blade. If it were possible to emulate the PS3, they would have done it on the server side at least.

Thats a promotion. One month of GP is normally 10 USD. One month of PS Now I think is 20 USD. So its actually 10 USD more expensive.

My PS3 has one game that does not work and it is Resistance 3. The demo however works.
I would buy this for the PS4 in a heartbeat.
Are people seriously hating on the PS4 games on PS Now? Have you looked at the full Game Pass lineup? Heck there is a lot of overlap in them both with games like Dirt, F1, Darksiders Remastered, Saints Row 4 etc. The only real thing Game Pass has going for it is the Day 1 exclusives. PS Now already has games like Bloodborne and God of War 3 Remastered and will just continue to get more as time goes on.
Would require the PS4 be able to play PS3 games natively, and that's a big fat nope.
PS3 Emulation is rough. I don't even think PS5 will be capable.
#2 exists now if you go for the 3-month sub ($29.99) or 12-month sub ($99.99).
Not gonna get day and date with the way Sony exclusives are selling.
Too bad the games offered on it are dookie. But this is a step in the right direction for Sony.
Yes, new games are added periodically and I know some have been removed but I don't know how often that has happened.

From a competitive lense, this update doesn't change much. Limited availability in only a few countries, you can't download PS3 games, PS4/2 list isn't all that great, pricing is not competitive - it's still in its root - a low-key streaming service that got added a download option.
The real question is what does this update imply for the future of PSNow - over the next year or two.The fact that this exist means that Sony isn't blind to the need to be competitive on the distribution of games under a service sub. Will this expand or evolve their distribution pipeline as their model evolves from being purely streaming to a hybrid of download/streaming will be what is key.
This update doesn't make PSNow competitive with Gamepass.
But this update shows that maybe, just maybe - Sony isn't blind to what their competitors are offering and is making steps to improve their offerings? ( but of course, they're trailing behind )

Anyone have a nice list of games on PSNow that I could organize by review aggregate or something? There are so many games so I'm trying to filter out the crap.
With PSNow allowing local downloads now, I wonder if Sony will eventually drop the Instant Game Collection from PS+ in favor of PSNow. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that, as the IGC gets you relatively new games for "free". All the PSNow games offered would be older, unless Sony can get newer games onto the service quicker (maybe day and date with their release).
Why not? could entice people to try both services if you give them a deal.
I believe that only applies to games that you're renting through the service. You'd still need PS+ for games you own physically for example, afaik. Kind of a weird half-bonus. They should just go all the way with it, imo.

I would do PS3 list for streaming too, but that uses 2 columns and is a pain to format here.
#3 is not going to happen while the new releases sell as well and are as high quality as they are.
You don't need Plus for games acquired through PSNow. But still require PS+ for games acquired outside of PSNow.
This is just the beginning, is my guess. PS Now will be a huge part of the future of Playstation. I'm guessing PS5 will have PS1-PS4 games with downloads for all.
I'm talking about a regular monthly basis not promo sales or extended subscriptions.

PS Plus is more than just online play. People that use the discounts on it benefit immediately, and of course the games every month.
I think it's a great bonus, cause you can just focus on buying single player games, and play from PSNow.
I think this is a practice run for the PS5.
Rights probably, some games could have in their contract they are streaming only
If you still don't know the answer to this several years into the generation you don't deserve PS3 games on your PS4
Aside from the weird save transfer stuff, I kind of like the PS Now exists without PS Plus. That you don't need a sub to play multiplayer games is awesome to me.

Anyway, is there a plan to get PS NOW with no credit card or paypal? All I heard is that 7 day trial, one month and even one year require that, just like one month of PS Plus. There is no way to get any PS Now subscription with PS Wallet?
It's been a very long promotion. It's been $99.99 for the annual sub for a long time. I don't even know what the regular price for the annual sub is. I agree the automatic renewal is an issue. They don't do automatic renewal for PS+. So I don't know why they do it for PS Now. Let's put it this way. If you're actually interested in PS Now, do the 7-day free trial. If you want to sub, get the 3-month sub which is $29.99.
