Star Ocean 2
An absolute classic of a game and one many, many people remember fondly from the PSX era. Star Ocean 2 benefits from:
-A robust crafting system that has a wholly different feel to it from modern day crafting, which includes non-combat items such as cooking and writing books
-A unique mechanic of "private actions" where you isolate the protagonist to develop relationships with your party members, resulting in dozens of different endings based on those ratings at the end of the game
-An AMAZING SOUNDTRACK
-A sci-fi setting that, unlike the other four games, actually spends half of the game in a scientifically advanced world
-A colorful cast that makes you think before recruiting a party member; one member may block out another. This encourages multiple playthroughs (as each optional member has a rather significant amount of private actions)
-Two campaigns with differing scenes between both characters, especially in private actions
-A very nice art style
-Not on PSN outside of Japan!
I love this game, unabashedly so, and I will be very sad if it isn't on the system. When I think Playstation, this is the first game to come to mind after Final Fantasy VII.
What about you? What game do you think people deserve to get the chance to play?
