Take all of the time you need, Uematsu-san.

Hoping for a fast and full recovery.

Oh no, that's not good. I hope he's able to get the rest he needs and deserves.

One of the best composers in the business, still listen to his work on FFVII-X a lot. Lost Odyssey was great too. Haven't seen him in games lately...

Hope he gets well soon.

These Japanese game devs/composers/workers seem to be burned out so much. Hope he gets the rest he needs.

Hope Sakurai is able to chill one day too.

Big fan of his work, though I didn't know he was going through tough times. Hope he recovers in due time and is able to keep making beautiful music.

I wish all of the best for him. He's done plenty for the industry so he's more than allowed to take a break to rest

Get well. I've seen Distant Worlds twice in Chicago, and both times he was there. The last time he sat 3 rows directly in front of me. I felt like a giddy kid sitting so close, like I could feel the aura of greatness eminating from him.

If I weren't on mobile, I'd talk about how the first time I saw him in Chicago, he dragged the whole choir and orchestra back on stage to do One Winged Angel a second time because he wasn't happy with his sound the first time. Arnie didn't want to, thrn Uematsu walked out and everyone else followed.

Giving Uematsu my energy:

Guy has been kicking ass for over 30 years, and his music has been tremendously inspiring to me. Seems like a lovely person by all accounts too.
He's my favorite composer. I hope he's going to be okay. How old is he?
He's 59, so not too old. I imagine he's been pushing pretty hard for a long time though.

Shocked. He's only 59, and seems like a really nice person. Between this and Namie Amuro retiring (big pop star from the 90s), I feel like it's the end of the era.

Even as a big FF14 player, though, I'm hopeful. He hasn't been at the top of his game for years, maybe because of overwork. Soken, Yoko Shimomura, and more up and coming musicians have been really shining in recent years and I look forward to seeing who they'll use next. Uematsu deserves his rest. He's given us lots of memories.

He lived a good life. Someone should write a book about him.

edit: I realize this sounds like he died. That was not intentional.

Oh no. Best wishes to him, I hope he gets better soon! He should take all the rest he needs until he's ready and willing to keep making great art! Of course, I couldn't blame him if he ended up retiring but it sounds like he's not ready to yet.

Hope he gets better soon. He's one of the all-time greats, arguably the all time great.

Hope he'll be okay.

Man, VII Remake can't catch a break, huh? He was brought on as lead composer.
