Great OP, I've been thinking about this since the PSX announcement.
The Saturn had such a diversity of software that it's not hard to come up with a selection of twenty games that cover so many genres.
Some key titles have been re-released time and again, and a Saturn Classic would be an opportunity to give attention to the forgotten classics.
(1) Exhumed
One of the best FPS of all time, on the console with the best version. 3D Metroidvania done so very well.
(2) Dark Saviour
An engrossing and very unique action adventure. The parallel system – in which replays take place in divergent alternate universes – is a USP that most of the industry ignored.
(3) Shining Force III
A legendary JRPG. Bonus points for including the sequel discs as part of the package.
(4) Panzer Dragoon Saga
There is no more paramount title that must be included. Sega's magnum opus.
(5) Fighters Megamix
A fighting mash up which is engaging, clever and very fun.
(6) NiGHTS
A must include – points, combo, score-based level progression with gargantuan bosses. Turns into Christmas NiGHTS if you play your Saturn Classic in December.
(7) Keio Flying Squadron II
An excellent 2D platformer that doesn't exist anywhere else. It's completely mad, and very representative of the some of the madness of the era.
(8) Guardian Heroes
An excellent fighting adventure game with a breadth of characters, multiple story pathways, fantastic mechanics, brilliant music and art, it's a masterpiece.
(9) Saturn Bomberman
The best version of Bomberman of the era, and still one of the best to this day. The single player campaign is wonderful and driven by deranged cutscenes. The multiplayer is magnificent.
(10) Sonic Jam
The "easy" modes, the Sonic Museum, the various extras, it's a unique entity unto itself and must be included.
(11) Die Hard Arcade
A popular classic, immensely playable.
(12) Baku Baku Animal
Fiercely addictive unique puzzler.
(13) Radiant Silvergun
An excellent inclusion and representation for its genre.
(14) Sega Rally
An iconic classic. People would be puzzled if it was absent.
(15) Daytona USA
Same reason as above
(16) Shining the Holy Ark
An unforgiving and immersive JRPG from a unique first-person perspective.
(17) Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
A brilliant 2D brawler realised brilliantly on the Saturn.
(18) Panzer Dragoon Zwei
Another classic, and distinct enough from its sequel to warrant inclusion.
(19) Duke Nukem 3D (with Death Tank Zwei)
A brilliant port of a classic. Its inclusion would be an unexpected surprise, plus Death Tank II – one of the best multiplayer games of all time.
(20) Virtua Fighter 2
An iconic game that has to be included.
Addendum – Sega must also sell a multi-tap addition that is compatible with USB controllers/Saturn controllers. Three of the games on this list include expansive numbers of players (Guardian Heroes – six players; Death Tank Zwei – Seven players; Saturn Bomberman – ten players), this opportunity should not be missed. There is nothing in the market offering 6+ local gameplay support on a single HDTV.
If SEGA did this - and made smart choices regarding software inclusion (and didn't just pick the same select re-released games again), then I'd pre-order, purchase and cherish,
