Hmm, mine doesn't seem to copy to my clipboard, which was the only reason I was interested in this shortcut.
Whoops, I just noticed I'd left a resize image to 500px in the workflow from when I was experimenting. You may want to delete that step.
That's weird, it works for me. Not sure what the issue could be.

So I'm trying to create a really simple shortcut that I can have as a widget that opens safari and searches a predetermined google search for me.
Anybody have any idea how to do that?
Basically have the widget.

It brings up safari and does a google search "PL fixtures"
Edit: I got it. Had to add a 'text' action before the web search so I could determine what that search would be. I think I could input that as a field in the web search section.

Is there a script (via share sheet) to trim the start and end of a selected video from the photos app?
When I record my screen, I sometimes don't catch swiping away Control Centre before recording starts and it'll be part of the recording. Same with swiping up to stop. Not that it's hard to do, but a quick trim script might be handy.

I don't think there's any great solution to this. There's a Trim Media function in Shortcuts but it takes you to the same screen as just hitting Edit in the Photos app, so it's an extra step through the share sheet.

Yes, any shortcut you make you also get to make a Siri command for.
Also that sounds hilarious.
Sweet, do you what the function is called? I have trouble finding it.
Tap the icon in the top right when editing a shortcut with the blue and white toggles, then "Add to Siri".

Edit: Btw, talking about Siri and workflows, it seems that Siri's voice is inherited by system settings. So I can't change voices to male for one function only for example. That's a bit of a bummer.

there's an app called Thermo Watch for Nest that allows modifications of Nest Thermostat settings for iOS, watch os and tv os.
The app just got an update with Siri Shortcut functionality:

I've seen a couple "Upload to Imgur" shortcuts, but here's mine.

This takes images from the web, takes images from the Photos app, converts videos to gifs, automatically puts them in albums when there's more than one and as single images when there's just one, saves images as highest quality PNGs, opens the link when done, and copies the url to the clipboard. Seems to cover everything I'd ever need it for, so hope it's of some use!

I loved my friends reaction to the roast workflow, he got pissed off and started kicking in my general direction. Mission accomplished, thanks Siri.
Edit: I need to add that the voice activated workflow was not what I was looking for as it repeated every step outloud. I instead used a widget which caught him just as much off guard because it's easily and quickly accessible.

I wanted to figure it out and make all my own shortcuts, but damn this is hard. Seems like there's a lot of prerequisite actions for a lot of basic shit that it doesn't tel you, like it wouldn't let me have it tell me the weather until I first had it figure out my location. And not just address, had to be city or zip code. Before I did that weather wasn't even an option. Least it could do is grey-out stuff that needs prior action to work, and tell you what that action is. Right now it's a guessing game.
And traffic doesn't require location first. So why does weather? It should already know. The inconsistency makes it worse.
Still haven't figured out podcasts at all. Or getting Siri to tell me things vocally. Probably gonna give up trying to do it myself and just look for premade shortcuts. I was expecting it to be a little more user friendly than this.

Fixed my above Imgur uploader to work with both images and videos in the same selection. Videos will be gifs and images will be pngs in the same album. Link updated above, but here it is again.

I'm trying to run this from camera roll with a single image but it doesn't seem to work, just runs for a moment then stops?

Edit: Shoe if I run images with transparency through this workflow will they remain?

Huh... it looks like the built-in PNG converter straight up crashes on some, not all camera roll photos, judging on some tests I did.... go figure. Hopefully they fix that bug. I switched it with JPEG (highest quality) and it works. Try it here: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/04a633628cce450da9bcb61512e1b080
You could also switch with TIFF for highest quality, but it will be large files, up to you.

I don't see why that shouldn't work, just pick a file type that supports transparency (so don't use my JPEG option, pick PNG or TIFF and hope their converter doesn't crash...)

Watching thread too. I don't have the Imgur app installed but can still use premade shortcuts with it. Awesome.
This is probably completely pointless but since I don't have the imgur app installed I can use this to upload an image from the markup screen directly to imgur and optionally have it open for me, all without an app I'd otherwise never use.

Anyway to start a playlist from a specific song and have it just continue in the same order of the playlist from that song?
I can find the song in the playlist and start playing it but it won't continue after that. Likewise, I can play a playlist easily of course. Any clue? :[

I'm just selecting an ordinary photo. Formula is pretty simple:
It worked for that screenshot, but barfed on an earlier photo.
Maybe because the photo was HDR or something?

Try the one in the OP that is used as an action from the share sheet instead of bringing up a photo picker.
I did say it was the definitive review.
Man, I wanted to do this one shortcut for when going home that would send a message to my wife, then speak the current weather forecast via Siri and afterwards play a specific playlist and based on the weather if raining then tell me the next train from my nearby station, but the app I use for chatting (Line) doesn't support shortcuts yet. Dang! ;( I wonder if I can still set up the rest (mainly check forecast, if rain then check for trains)...

I also went through and got all of Imgur's supported file extensions: it only attempts to convert different ones (it looks like the converting bug is from jpg to png, so this avoids that). Then, it just provides a message instead of opening the url afterward. Should be covering all the bases here in terms of uploading, but let me know otherwise.

Nice, thanks. This sort of highlights though how rudimentary their sharing architecture is. No versioning, no way to have updates sync, not even the ability to provide a description on the share page. I wish Apple had done a thorough design and UX review of Workflow when they bought it, instead of just doing a cursory design refresh to make it look more Appley. The sea of rectangles is overwhelming, not even the ability to group or categorize actions.
I appreciate it as a "babby's first programming language" utility, but can hope that they'll include something more for experienced developers. I just wanted a little proof of concept to see how the "language" works, and honestly I came out fairly impressed. Hopefully this continues to improve over time!
I've also seen a script handle self-updating by giving the title a version number and checking it with a number in an online file that the script checks, but yeah, that's a pretty cumbersome way to do a simple thing, so that had better be improved.
I just wish I didn't have to use so many damn "Set" and "Get" bubbles, but I didn't know any other way to handle the variables...

I would like to upload a Switch screenshot to twitter and then click a shortcut that automatically uploads it and copies it to my clipboard. I guess I could copy it to my phone and then use the current imgur shortcut but that is more work.
