I've already stated that that's a common trick for the propagation of misleading information, mirrored by gutter tabloids (in the UK, at least) and dubious politicians etc as well as your favourite console manufacturers and, in fact, anyone trying to sell you something. The vast majority won't click on the link in the following tweet, just as most people don't bother to read small-print, and most people don't bother to read clarifications printed in tiny corners on misleading newspaper stories. People see the headline, the idea (accurate or not) nestles in the mind, and then they scroll onto the next thing shouting 'look at me'. Marketeers are all too aware of this and use it to their advantage to shape perception.
Champion MS all you want because BC is just so damned wonderful or whatever, but don't tell me how they've formatted that tweet and it's subsequent clarification isn't painstakingly considered because it absolutely is.
If you doubt what I'm saying, ask yourself why they didn't include the link that provides clarification in the original tweet? It wasn't an oversight.
BC would be nice, but we all know there's a market for these things regardless.
I'll stick with my Pi3 for PS1 either way.
Do you have access to get the PSP PS1 bios? It runs even better.I've been really impressed at how well PSX performs on the B+. I actually did full playthroughs of Tekken 3 (earned all unlocks) and Um Jammer Lammy just this past weekend, and put a couple hours each into Wipeout XL and Doom. There's no question a little box like this (be it the PS Classic or a Pi) has tons of draw as a standalone.
And they gave it away for free to everyone who watched last years e3 on Mixer lol. But techinacally you had to own a device to watch Mixer on, so I guess it wasnt really free.In addition to this, Rare Replay is available at most places for around $10. Insane amount of value compared to the classic consoles.
where are you getting emulated games for free?I better not get a warning if i pop into an emulation thread saying ill play all these games for free.

I thought the tweet was harmless. How did this thread make it to 30 pages
You know, since the whole used game thing, I don't Sony has "taunted" MS since then. However, ever since BC for MS, they've been doing it constantly.I don't understand why MS is so insecure when it comes to PS. Don't recall Sony issuing statements on every move MS makes.
Maybe if MS engineered better hardware at a affordable price and invested in their first party companies they bought out instead of sinking them, they wouldn't feel the need to defend themselves all the time.
Worst thing about this tweet, is it means we won't get a little Xbox, with a pair of massive Dukes.
Really? Isn't that what they always do on twitter?
Common sense says you'd have to own the games to be able to play them. The tweet says '500 games free'
So unless you already own all 500 games then please stop saying This statement is correct. It's not free if you have to buy it.
Amazing the mental gymnastics people engage in to defend their favourite brand

Because console warriors all have to post their identical take that involves them somehow forgetting what backwards compatibility is because their console of choice doesn't have it.I thought the tweet was harmless. How did this thread make it to 30 pages

Oh it wasn't the best, I don't disagree with that, but you weren't forced to pay to transfer them and it was a better solution than what Sony or Microsoft, at the time, were offering, which was nothing
Lol
- i think Hillary Clinton is lizardfolk.
- got any evidence?
- i'm not your mother!
It's blatant false advertising. Conflating a miniature retro collectable pre loaded with 20 classic games for 100 dollars to simple backwards compatibility is.....disingenuous at best. Promote your feature but don't pretend to offer 'free' games lolCommon sense says you'd have to own the games to be able to play them.
The mental gymnastics in this thread are on the people saying there's anything wrong with the tweet. It's just Microsoft promoting one of their best features.

Yep, would also be a really fun way of doing it. But if I ever got one of these mini consoles, it'd be for shelf decoration, not really ever playing on. Why I'd never actually get one.
Right. It's a conspiracy. In a simple tweet. Because you say so. lol
And I never once mentioned any praise at all for MS or their BC. You are showing your hand.
Different threads attract different fanboys though, isn't that how it always goes?
To be honest though i've never seen any fanboys that are more toxic than the likes of crapgamer and tim dog etc.
