Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta, with more news to come soon. As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch. We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.

Access to Red Dead Online is free to anyone with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Huh that's a little de-hyping becuase it going to most likely be the same as gta online. Shit at the beginning that grows into something amazing way to far down the line for me to care.... O well at least theyll have an amazing single player to play for a while.

I wonder if we get to beta test the microtransactions that will most likely be absolutely terrible like they are in GTA5 online.

I dont care hugely about online to be fair. But sucks abit my 60 bucks copy is used as a beta test.
Or is the beta free? And the full online only for when you own it?

I was hoping it would launch with the full game, damn. I really hope they can recapture the magic of Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer and not just be a Red Dead-ized GTAO.

I want some zombie mode. If not online hopefully a dlc. That was a fun mode back in the last game.

I was really disappointed in GTA online at it's launch and for some reason I'm getting the same vibe here with so little information. I understand they improved GTA online quite a bit over the years but I hope red dead is good right away.

Again with the month after release thing? Fifty bucks says it's unplayable for a month just like GTA:O was.

Lmao I knew the online wouldn't be ready for launch but I mean it's not even going to be ready this year! A beta Rockstar really? You should've just pushed the game to next year. Seriously all these years and the best you can do is a beta a month after launch. And people think this game deserves GOTY.

Interesting. Not a huge fan of the online portion of Rockstar games but I'll give it a try.

Weird to have a Beta *after* the game's out, but I guess GTAOnline launched a while after GTA V and it's not like that hurt it none. Also weird to announce something like this before even talking about what the online component even consists of...

A beta after release?

lol its definitely battle royale

GTA Online launched two weeks after the release of GTA V. It was a massive shitshow. So Rockstar are taking their time with this one, and rightfully so. Because if done right, this'll make just as much money as GTA Online.

Did the first game have online? What was it like?

It did, but nothing on the scale of GTA Online.

Knew they'd ruin Red Deads online too. Can't wait to have to grind for hours and hours to get a slightly better horse.

"Public beta" as a free open beta? That's interesting if it is the case, and obviously it will have a battle royale mode.

Rockstar is treating Red Dead Online as a separate game.
