I can't handle that gaming downtime, so are there any good games that you can play on your office PC?
Requirements are:

- Doesn't need to be installed since we can't install stuff due to company guidelines (so a standalone executable Package or something that runs within the browser or a Google Chrome app)

- Can be played low key (so no games where you are fully immersed, something you can play and stop playing on the side)

I put some serious time into cookie clicker, but what else is there era?

Have you tried gacha shit on mobile?
It's my to go for when I have breaks.

You have to like anime in some capacity though.

When I worked in a call-centre, I used to play GBA Pokemon or JRPG games. They were all turn-based so you can leave it whilst dealing with a customer, plus being a GBA, there's no method to take down customer details so it wasn't a security risk.

Mobile is great and all, but not low key enough

The Internet
Tried that, but the progression is too slow

Edit: I'm not trying to avoid work, just something for the downtimes or to relax to for a couple of minutes at a time

Stick to mobile gaming, don't play/install video games on your office PC

I brought my USB from home. It had the GBA emulator to play GBA games like Golden Sun (yes, I own it) at work. Made the window small and Put the window in the corner of the screen. Great time.

You could catch Pokemon and name them the information of customer details.

CAUGHT.

Try installing Crysis and then complain to management that office PCs are weak ass shit than can't even run 10 years old games.

There's plenty of idle clicker games that aren't cookie clicker. Clicker heroes, etc.

I could also recommend something like Desktop Dungeons. Fun little thing.

Clicker games.

Every good clicker game was a blight that infected me and my colleagues for a while.

I wonder what the company guidelines say when the IT department remote desktops on to your pc mid game and takes a screen shot.

You may want to also consider Pokemon Go for your walk to the job centre

I sometimes play a game I like to call "how little can I possibly accomplish in an 8 hour period of time".

I think OP is old enough for not having us judge him or give him life advice.

I would stick to mobile games on your phone. There a plenty of such low key games you're looking for. Plenty of clicker gamea, for example. I'd recommend Pocket Heroes, Alto's Odyssey, Battleheart, Dead Ahead, Traffic Rider, Knights of Pen & Paper. Most if not every game allows you to pause at your will, put the phone back, get back to work, put it out and continue later where you left.

Look for games coded in Microsft Excel.

I started playing Granblue for this reason - runs in chrome with nothing fancy involved, safe to tab out or leave in the background if something comes up, tons of content with incremental progress to be made regardless of how much time you're interested in putting in.
Of course, at the end of the day, it's a JRPG with an MMO gear treadmill, so that might not be your thing.

Hook up a PS4 Pro and call it your Support Unit. Make vague allusions to "data" and "collation." Insist that you not be disturbed during "processing."

If your company already has installs locked down , as others mentioned I would stick to mobile.

No doubt they are monitoring browsers and internet usage.

I used to bring in a iPad mini at a job where I had downtime, waiting for builds, etc. I wouldn't use company resources for gaming during your work hours especially since most of the web games should run on your phone these days.

Nowadays I pop in and out of turn based mobile games when I have downtime in between meetings that isn't long enough to get anything substantial started or finished.

You should be careful on work PCs even just browsing, I've seen people end up getting their work pc infected with malware that had porn continuing to pop up. Embarrassingly they had to have IT wipe everything.

Also been at a place that had to send an email out about torrenting. HBO had sent a cease and desist because the work internet was being used to download shows. Now management never said who and obviously no one would do it purposely so we all assumed someone brought in a personal laptop, connected to the WiFi and forgot they had torrents in progress so they just continued in the background using company internet lol.

How about Job Simulator? It's pretty nice to play at work. You don't even need a VR headset... or the game. :v
