It's not a completely new character, but they're expanding Father Blackwood's role. He is the character in that image posted a few pages ago.

Still sad as hell to me that we'll have more episodes of the show than issues of the damn comic. Like, at least let someone else write it if you can't juggle the show & an issue every few months. Hell, I'd take 1 issue a year at this point.

I don't think Salem's role is something they can just rewrite on the fly, and they've said he's important to the plot, or maybe I'm thinking of the comic.

Also, none of those screens really mean this one take place in modern day. Riverdale looks just as retro.
what makes you say that? they could be doing an anachronistic sort of vibe. setting it in modern day but having a lot of the fashion mimic a 60s style. looks like it to me
Just finished up finished up series 2 of Riverdale last night. We couldn't get into it at first and turned off after 20 minutes into the first episode but came back to it later and we were hooked. Loved it.
In regards to the modern setting of the show, myself and my girlfirend said mutiple times through series 2 that sometimes the show could be set in in mutiple decades, if not for the modern tech in some scenes. It's quite strange but gives the show a unique quality.
Also are people planning on watching this or Riverdale series 3 first?

Yeah I was going to say "bummer they didn't go with 60s". The showrunner just teased a Riverdale crossover again, which means it's definitely happening, which means it takes place in the same time. I'm assuming no silly time travel.
