It's a Nintendo exclusive. It won't be available at Amazon, Gamestop or Best Buy.
You buy from Nintendo... or ebay later on.

With your Joy Cons turned on, go to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Update Controllers.

You should wait a bit until the services launch in a few hours imo. In fact, there's a free trial, so maybe wait a week to maximise your sub?
Are updates handled by the eShop servers? If so, then y'all might not actually see the update until maintenance is done.
It's $25 in Canada but I'm saving a whole $2.50 by splitting the plan with my girlfriend!
I had a buddy who was supposed to hop in and we could split it 3 ways but he "doesn't want to support Nintendo's bad online" even though the same amount of money is going to them whether he's involved or not....
well the maintenance is happening but the system update ain't up yet.
(yes I brought my Switch to work so I could update ASAP...)

What maintenance are you talking about ? because the eshop maintenance has started in Europe and the update isn't available yet.
