Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and Pokemon are all I need. You can stop releasing games after them and I'll be good.

As a non Wii U owner, 2018 has been great. Just off the small list provided, I'm already dissatisfied with 2019's releases because I'm not interested in any of those franchises and I don't expect Bayo 3 and MP4 to come and save the day. Not going to hype myself up for those two until we have more info.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is the only big maybe, but I'm not moving on to 3 without playing 2 first (can't do it). I don't own, or plan to own, a 3DS. So, I need a Switch port big N.

Almost no interest yet. We'll see. This year I bought only Ocotpath and will buy Smash, along with indie games which have been out forever.

Personally I much preferred 2018.

Animal Crossing and Pokémon are simply franchises I don't play.

Plus Fire Emblem isn't looking like what I dreamed it would be but still willing to give that a chance.

I prefer Tropical Freeze over NSMBU, and Smash over Luigi's Mansion as a franchise.

Really though it's the lack of something like Octopath or Mario Rabbids that keeps me from getting excited.

To me the dark horse is Yoshi's Crafted World. If it touches the greatness of OG Yoshis Island then it would make the year personally.

January's already pretty stacked for me with Tales of Vesperia, NSMBU, Onimusha and Travis Strikes Again.

Pretty excited about Pokemon, very hyped about Animal Crossing, and would be even more excited about MP4 but I'm skeptical that it'll be out next year.

I have not bought one switch game this year, Nintendo better make up for it next year. I'm down for luigis mansion, Pokémon, fire emblem and smash later this year of course. Yoshi looks good but might wait for price drop.

It looks awesome already. If i wasn't such a huge smash fan I would say it's easily shaping up as the best year for the switch.

Awful.

Fire.emblem and town are the only ones from that list I'm even 5% considering a purchase of. I have no faith in Pokemon gen 8 not being awful after seeing the direction of let's go.

That said I love my switch and expect awesome indie games like dead cells battle chef etc to come out so it's not a big deal for me.

When I finally get a Switch, it's gonna be for Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and Daemon X Machina. I'm not big on Mario or Zelda, so I have no problem waiting for 2019.

New Pokemon is a lock for me, and Yoshi/FE certainly pique my interest. I loved Animal Crossing on the DS, but I find it hard to get hyped for a new Animal Crossing entry in a post-Stardew world. I hear good things about NSMBU, but I'm in the "Nintendo is smoking crack if they think I'll pay full price for a port of an old platformer" camp. Is there any indication on how the game will be priced?

I've never played Luigi's Mansion, is it worth picking up 1 & 2 on 3DS and having a jam?

This seems like a good year. Another 2017/2014/2013.

There's variety, first party clout, and a sense of effort. I've enjoyed this year for the Switch (it's the best console to play indie games on), but I can't wait for it to have more Nintendo content.

All games have potential to be really great, but I'll wait for reviews.

I particularly did not like the FE trailer from E3. Formations with so few soldiers just looked lame.
Daemon X Machina looks cool, but I need reassurance on campaign length and framerate.
For Pokemon, I'm not exactly starving for another one, so the looks of the starters and new features will be key.
I have zero nostalgia for Nintendo IPs, so a just decent (but surely great looking) yoshi game would not entice me at all.
I would not play Bayonetta 3 before playing 1 and 2, both of which I have not bothered with.
Animal Crossing was very charming for 3ds, but I would certainly not pay $60 unless the content dramatically changes.

If you already own a Switch do yourself a favor and pick up Bayonetta 1/2 if you've never played them. If not pick up a cheap used copy of one on 360 and play it on Xbox One if you own an X1.

I think it looks really good, and I'm only really interested in fire emblem. I'd be interested in animal crossing but it's too much of a time sink and that won't help my backlog.

Really hoping for metroid next year though!

For me, in terms of "must buy" and "maybe", it's been as follows:

2017: Must buy - BoTW, XC2. Maybe - Splatoon 2
2018: Must buy - Octopath Traveler (admittedly this isn't actually a Nintendo-made title either). Maybe - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
2019: Must buy - FE: 3H. Maybe - NSMBU, Yoshi: Crafted World.

Considering Fire Emblem is the franchise I care most about on Nintendo platforms, that puts 2019 up pretty high, and above 2018 on my list. I might also be interested in Animal Crossing but time will tell on that front. So overall I'm more excited than this year, and there are of course more announcements that will come out once 2019 actually starts.

It's shaping up to be the 2013 of the 3DS, right down to a Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, and new Pokémon generation. And 2013 was one of my personal best years for that system.

Greatly looking forward to it. Better than this year for sure — not to say it's been bad, but that's just a killer lineup.

It's stacked. Pokémon, FE and AC would be enough for me. Yoshi looks great and MP4 will hopefully pan out

Just hoping for Pikmin 4 now. Also, I'd like to see some 3DS IPs get sequels on Switch soon but maybe 2020. Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario got to happen soon

I'm still waiting for some Third Person Shooters not called Splatoon. I legit would love even a devils third port at this point (I actually like that game and have a physical copy on WiiU)

Definitely more excited for 2019's line up so far than I was 2018's at this point last year. It's looking like it's going to be a great year.

for me it's a pretty solid line up though some of the heavy hitters don't really do anything for me like Animal Crossing

definitely excited for Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and hopefully Bayo 3

I'm excited for Metroid but they need to show it, that game doesn't really exist for me yet

it's definitely a better overall line up than 2018 from a sales ceiling perspective and just considering momentum and how the titles might be spaced out across the year but I might have to go with 2018 personally because of Octopath, the Splatoon DLC, and Smash

Feeling pretty meh, until I see gameplay of Pokemon ( I'm sure it's gonna let me down). Those other titles don't interest me all that much. Don't give a crap about all the ports. Need to see Metroid, Retros project, and one more major title before I can say 2019 sucks or kicks ass.

Did you watch the direct? Like half of it was ports.

-Animal Crossing = Not really into it and it probably wont release next year
-NSMBU = Port. No interest
-Luigi's Mansion 3 = Looked really rough. Not hyped at all.
-Fire Emblem = Ok, this one excites me.
-Pokemon Gen 8 = Gamefreak has had a horrible track record and each game is getting worse. Dont have a lot of hope for this one.
-Daemon X Machina = Looks meh
-Yoshi's Crafted World = Looks nice, but not a fan of this series.
-Town = Seems ok, but it's not a major title. Gameplay doesn't look very fun.

Need to see alot more from Nintendo. Speaking for myself of course.

They could literally not announce anything else for the whole year and it would still be a mindblowing year, rivaling and probably surpassing 2017 in fact. Only thing that could ruin it would be unexpected delays.

Animal Crossing and Pokemon will be a killer end of the year, but I'm not all that enthused about the rest of the lineup. Would much rather play stuff from my backlog over a new Yoshi or Luigi's Mansion.
Fire Emblem could be great, but I still haven't touched Conquest/Revelations/Echoes so I'm in no rush unless it's received overwhelmingly positively.

Hopefully Bayonetta or Metroid Prime make it.

Animal Crossing and Pokemon are the big hitters for me. If Pikmin or MP4 come out next year then it'll top 2017 for sure.

-Animal Crossing: Hyped provided they don't mess it up with microtransactions, or worse, amiibos.
-NSMBU: Old game, don't care. I might pick it up just to have it if it ever goes down to $20 or so.
-Luigi's Mansion 3: I'll have to wait and see. Could be great, but Dark Moon left me cold.
-Fire Emblem: I really like the way it looks, although I don't like having generic fighters. I'll wait for reviews and if they're on par with other FE I'll be there for release.
-Pokemon Gen 8: I'm super hyped to see what it looks like. Not a guaranteed buy though.
-Daemon X Machina: Looks a lot like a Vita game. Could be good but could also be mediocre, will have to wait and see.
-Yoshi's Crafted World: Looks cute. I'll try it out after a price drop.
-Town: I can't really tell what this is yet, but I wasn't super into the trailer. Probably not for me.

For me the year really hinges on Metroid Prime 4. That is one of the only 'dream games' Nintendo has made in a long time. Hopefully they don't ruin it.
Bayonetta 3 would also be great.

I'm really wondering when Retro's game is gonna drop. If it doesn't make 2019 that would be pretty crazy for Retro. They are way past due for a game.

There's a lot coming in 2019 that I'm personally hyped for. Between those and ames like Smash and Mario Party that I won't stop playing for a long time, my Switch is not gonna be able to catch a break next year.

2017 was great. 2018 has been awful. 2019 looks to be another great year. Animal Crossing, Yoshi's Crafted World, and Fire Emblem are the killer games for me. Metroid Prime 4 would be the icing on top.

I'm really excited. Aside from Smash, I haven't cared about a single Switch game all year so 2019 being full of games is making it up to me.

Animal Crossing
Luigi's Mansion 3
Fire Emblem
Pokemon Gen 8
Daemon X Machina

Will absolutely be getting all of these day 1.

Looking forward to animal crossing and maybe fire emblem. I'm kind of bored of Nintendo lately. They did some amazing work with Mario Maker, Splatoon, and BotW. I want to see them get out of their comfort zone a bit more.

Do I really need to list everything that was in the direct?

These were just the 2019 ports announced in the direct.

FF7
FF9
FF10, 10-2
FF12
Mario Bros deluxe
Capcom bundle
Kirby epic yarn
Mario Luigi 3ds

All great games, but games that released years ( decades ) ago. The rest of the ports are getting released this year. I love the Switch and 3DS, but I didn't buy them to buy/play the same games again.

Animal Crossing is my 2nd favorite Nintendo franchise these days behind Zelda, and that alone makes 2019 kind of a juggernaut year for me.

I hope that Bayonetta 3 drops and NSMBU Deluxe will probably get a re-purchase from me.

I'll probably buy the majority of, if not all, the Final Fantasy ports that drop on the console next year. FFXII Zodiac Age in particular is one that I'd LOVE to be able to play on the go.

I look forward to seeing what the new generation of Pokemon looks like on the Switch. I'm hoping it feels like a huge leap, personally, but given the development time -- which I imagine will have been 3 years tops by 2019, I suppose I really have to temper my expectations.
