As a sidenote, does anyone even read this? I wonder if the options were decipherable to people who don't consider themselves Sonic fans. Regular options such as piloted Egg machines, Doctor himself, somehow, and somewhat plausible game-specifc villains were excluded. Yes, this implies I don't think Shadow would make a good boss. Metal Sonic was skipped because I don't like him, and also because he was too serious of a suggestion.

Dragon Quest is bigger than every franchise you listed. Stop acting like the US is the whole world.
I figured by politics, they meant the politics of the award show. I.E it would look like the only reason the game won was for Smash marketing.

They're concerned this game (DQXI) will lose its award (Best RPG) because of politics (Sugiyama). They also say it's US biased, so it's a japanese game that will lose for politics, more than quality (I don't think any other RPG reviewed better than DQXI this year).
They also say the category is a "loose defined", which is RPG basically.
Nintendo revealed Bayonetta 3 and a Bayonetta 1+2 port for Switch last year, and Cranky "Fucking Cranky Kong" Kong back in 2013 so like as far as I'm concerned they'll reveal whatever they want irregardless of what people have to say. This is a game's awards show, they'll show games related stuff, and Dragon Quest is by far one of the biggest games in the market.
I know DasVergaben isn't exactly credible, but his smash leaks are spot on, apparently Incinaroar and Ken are on, I may not care about either of those but another leaker claims Dante is in the game along with those two, I wouldn't believe it but it aligns with das's claim and that DMC5 leaker ( who got everything right.. so far.. ) who also leaked Dante in smash

Yeah, but if we're assuming it's DQ then there's a decent chance it would win Best RPG anyway and no one would be surprised.
If it took GOTY then people would call collusion, but how many would do that just for a genre award that isn't very crowded this year?
Out of all the SE options DQ is the only one I'd be disappointed by personally. But I understand why it has a high chance of appearing.

If DQ loses, I doubt XB2 will win. The RPG category will probably be down to DQ and Octopath this year.

I don't think most people knew that. Some people were on the port train but a lot of people thought it was a brand new game. And Nintendo made it blatantly clear it was a brand new game when they announced it in the March Direct. At that point it was very possible cuts would happen, as they had in every past game. Konami rejoining Smash with Snake coming back and Simon being added is also something that was not obvious and many did not think would happen (especially with the Kojima/Konami rift, since Snake got into Brawl due to Sakurai's friendship with Kojima).
Speaking of Fuzzy Yoshi, his fuziness seems rather downplayed to me, at least comparing the render at Source Gaming to Woolly World Yoshi. Do you think it will be visible to 90% of gaming populace? For the sake of example, let's say it's on Switch screen, and if screens do vary like on 3DS, let's say on worse ones.
It very much could have been a Smash 4 port with Inklings + new alts after the March direct. It wasn't until E3 that they showed it was a new game.
The reason why I'm confused is because my brain see the legs facing away from us and the upper body turning 90% to face the screen.
But it's better than not being playable in any form. While it's not the best treatment, that other stuff is only a bonus and has no impact on all the time spent actually playing the game.

With the exception of Travis Strikes Again (which was already known to feature co-op gameplay) then yeah they got everything wrong, to the point that they rebranded from Vandal_Leaks to LeakyPandy.
I disagree, actually. Not being playable at all at least leaves hope for being made into their own character later on instead of being trapped as another character's skin puppet like Alph is.
Really can we just like, not stick completely different characters as just costumes (outside of instances like Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings)? Especially now that we have total clones, I feel like that shouldn't be a difficult request.

Exactly. And even things they have predicted after the direct were wrong. I'm not sure if they have ever had one thing right beside the march Nintendo Direct date and hour.
