Wouldn't it be funny if he keeps injuring his eye throughout the move?
The marketing thing is kind of my point, I just worded poorly, sorry. I know in the past (including some of DCs own recent animated entries) that they kept flipping between Captain Marvel and Shazam and it was always confusing to me why they did it. But, honestly, if you can't market a character under their own name (like has been done for Batman, Superman, etc after their debuts in Detective Comics, Action Comics, etc even though those are technically still published)...
Either way, I don't care. Trailer is hype. I've been waiting for this since before the movie even had an announcement and it felt like Marvel kept blocking me each time the movie was pushed back. Now we're in the end game leading up to it and A4 and the next few months are going to be rather, er, interesting for me.
Doesn't Rogue do that power absorption to Ms Marvel early on? And I'm pretty sure that persona has already been excised from her. Would be odd to have that storyline when Carol is already Captain Marvel and Rogue is already a big shot.

A lot of love about the trailer and for those asking for more...I'm pretty sure this was a teaser trailer. We get more later.

Not a lot of that 90s personality and nostalgia that we were promised, but I'm sure we'll get that in the next trailer. This seemed to be just setting up the basics about Danvers' character for people who's only exposure to her was that cryptic Infinity War stinger.
Final scene Fury is shown drinking a Mai Tai and forgots to take the little parasol out.
Fury: Damn, I shouldn't have trusted that bartender!
Bartender is revealed to be a Skrull.
That Blockbuster Video thing was there to be as 90s as possible.
Carol has been wack way before CW2. That was just icing on the cake.
teaser was great. opening with Blockbuster is a kind of a hilarious way to show that it's set in the past. gives off the tone that this is gonna be a character-driven story about Carol getting back in touch with her humanity. Young Fury and Coulson looking fresh. helmet design is fantastic, like it came straight out of the comics. Marvel bout to give us a live-action Super Saiyan transformation on the big screen too. can't wait to see more.
If there are fake outs, I want most of them to be funny gags like Nick keeps getting hit around the eye area by random shit.
It's probably the same people who "can't relate" to Black Panther
I was hoping it was down to plot somehow as noted.
That said knowing nothing about the character the concept sounds like trope city!
My main issue I guess is ultimately I enjoy MCU films when they're light and breezy (Ragnarok, Ant Man) and find them a little tedious when they get overly serious and figure some low level character work elevates the proceedings, and the teaser leans more to the latter. Still there is the old lady getting it so hopefully the film itself is lighter.
Yea honestly the era hate on carol is kinda getting annoying.
It makes sense for them to lean into this part. Leaning into the diversity angle is definitely smart and it worked for Black Panther and the fact that Black Panther was an awesome film too made for a perfect storm of excellence.
What's strange to me is that people all over the Twitterverse this morning that are shitting on Wonder Woman and shouting their favoring of Captain Marvel (a lot of which I don't feel even know much about the character from what it sounds and about a movie they haven't seen. Adults too not just kids). I wish people learned that it is possible to like both. This lesson doesn't seem to be a hard one to learn.

Yeah, it would have to be a different version of that matchup for sure. And I agree.. I wouldn't be in favor of Rogue taking the CM powers permanently. I think that was an unfortunate setback to Rogue's character to just give her those generic powers all those years. But that said, they could do some big epic showdown between the two, and then leave the rivalry permanently in place.
Not the best trailer, but still, you need to watch this movie for the full Avengers 4 experience.
