Nintendo Listed As Most Reliable Japanese Company In Forbes Report, 11th In The World

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...se_company_in_forbes_report_11th_in_the_world

Every year, Forbes publishes new reports looking into which of the world's largest companies are the most reputable among its consumers. These reports collect data from hundreds of thousands of individuals across multiple countries, looking into which companies provide the best services, products, and support with every customer interaction.

Forbes Japan has now published its individual list of the 'top 250 reliable companies' included within its 'Global 2000' - yet another list of the world's largest public companies. Nintendo has managed to snag an 11th place spot worldwide - which is an impressive feat all on its own - but this result also means that the video game giant has been voted as the most reliable company in its home region of Japan, narrowly beating car manufacturer Toyota to that crown.
  1. Walt Disney (USA)
  2. Hilton (USA)
  3. Ferrari (Italy)
  4. VISA (USA)
  5. Paypal (USA)
  6. Netflix (USA)
  7. Siemens (Germany)
  8. Amazon (USA)
  9. Marriott International (USA)
  10. Mastercard (USA)
  11. Nintendo (Japan)
  12. Toyota (Japan)

Interesting to see Disney as #1 also given that nintendo's is moving towards a disney like model with moves beyond games into the theme park, merchandising and even partnering with them for a game show.

Moving to "Entertainment" as a whole is the natural evolution of big gaming companies. You have to expand beyond that sector, and tap deeper into your customer's wallets (and their friends/families')

Surprised that Ferrari is that high. Not that I'm doubt their reputability but how many people are gonna be dealing with them?

Well deserved, Nintendo's games on average have a polish and an adherence to fun gameplay way above anyone else in the gaming industry. They have generally stayed away from the bad practices of the industry and when they have used DLC/micro transactions/etc. , theirs were considerably more customer friendly in pricing/not being obtrusive.

What does reliable mean in this context?

I don't know why op decided to leave the most important paragraph which happens to also be the very first one.

Nintendo's customer service is AMAZING.

In 2017 my OG 3DS bought in 2011 broke. European laws guarantee a 2 year warranty, but Nintendo repaired the damage (user induced, even if it was fairly small, I broke the R button) for free and they even paid for the shipping fees.

Actually I have to say part of the reason I liked Nintendo handhelds but not Sony's is that every nintendo handheld I bought had 0 bad pixels - DS, multiple 3DS, 2 switches.

When I bought the PSP, I was paranoid of bad pixels - in fact I was close to the store manager at a gamestop so he let me open 7 new PSP;s to check for bad pixels, and every single one had bad pixels. 1 had a whole line of them (like half the horizontal screen length was a row of identical bad pixels) and one wouldn't even boot. Ended up keeping 1 with "just" a bad pixel, and it always irritated me because it was in a visible location and always stood out.

Thats why I never bought a Vita. Be interested to know if Vita had similar problems, I mean the hardware was incredible for its time.

Nintendo has always been reliably quality in their output. But I never thought of them as ranking near the top 10 in quality for all companies, worldwide. おめでっとう!
