First Marvel trailer I've seen since the Ant-Man Wasp one that didn't really do it for me, although seeing Nick Fury was a highlight (as well as her cracking a grandma in the face).

Not America
I have NO idea about who this character is, what's with the silly name, why the mohawk has people hyped, what the relevance of the helmet is, why she's going super saiyan but the trailer looked dank. Guess I'll go in blind and try and enjoy the sauce. She seems bare powerful though. Like more powerful than Captain America.

Yea, I did background research on the character a while back. She is not as famous as say Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Wonder Woman etc. However, this movie is about her origin story and suffice it to say you will get your answers. As for her powers, well, I do not know how much they will draw from comics but technically she is well and truly beyond Captain America.

Well, that was extremely disappointing. I've been so excited for this film for a long time and that trailer just killed all hype I had for it. It looks like a mess. Brie looks amazing in the role, but it really didn't hook me.

Can any of the marvel fanatics point out something this trailer that's worth getting exciting about? that's original? particularly well done?

I feel crazy that someone looks at this and it gets them excited, this isn't even about the movie I specifically his mean trailer

Not a fanatic, or familiar with Captain Marvel. I thought the snippet of her rolling onto the train showed the action scenes might have some pretty good choreography/cinematography, plus the CGI de-aging will be fun with Coulson and Fury. Her power set looks like something out of DBZ, which will be awesome to see in a big budget movie (barring CGI like Black Panther).

It was a below average trailer, but if people care about the character enough their hype is pretty normal.

Seriously, this is my issue too. When I read the character she sounds more like Ripley in Aliens, not.... Whatever Brie is doing...
Steve Rogers never sounded like Chris Evans in my head, now I can't help but hear Evans' voice. And Star-Lord certainly never sounded like Chris Pratt before, and now he's pretty much been rewritten to match that voice.

Looks solid, i'm in. Since it's just a teaser, it's ok for the video to be a bit safe. I expect them to go nuts with the trailer(s) just like they always do.

Also, i really grew on Brie Larson as Cap Marvel ... wasn't to sure in her because i always thought that Denvers would need to be a bit more buff, but she'll kick butt good enough. ^^

Captain Marvel! Fuck, yeah! I love Capta...

... Oh, wait. It's Marvel's Captain Marvel. I still get them confused.
Every time I see a post like this I ask why. They haven't been able to legally call Shazam Captain Marvel for decades, even predating the birth of most of the posters on this and just about every other forum that cares to discuss it.

For all the people saying she sounds "bored" perhaps that is her demeanor having spent so much time with the Kree and in the cosmos.

It could be a creative choice. I guess we will see.

Damn it, that was hype as hell!

Also just awesome that we're getting another female led solo outing, and that she's potentially going to be the most powerful MCU hero.

Really dug that Her to Hero fade in too.

Very excited for this.

I love all the consecutive shots of her standing up in different periods of her life, as someone who knows next to nothing about her it really gives a good framing of who this character is.

Know nothing about the character except that she punches old ladies.

So I guess they're staying true to that part of her origin story. Well done.

We know literally nothing about her from the teaser.

Except - she has amnesia; she gets flashbacks (ptsd?); she was in the Air Force; she is resilient (falls down a lot but gets back on her feet); she was experimented on; she has super powers; she punches grannies

I like the footage so far. Enjoy that they didn't show too much in a way. I thought the music was the worst part and a huge missed potential.

If they show the full extent of her powers in the final cut I'm fine, but I'm disappointed that wasn't done in this trailer.

She doesn't sound bored in the slightest, she sounds kind of detached from reality due to the nature of her cosmic powers being so damn incompatible with general human thinking.

Very fitting and cool tone to set the trailer with, really sold the cosmic angle.

Teaser is a teaser.

We saw enough to show she's got some pretty huge power potential.

Nah. They couldn't call the comic Captain Marvel for decades. Up until fairly recently the comic was Shazam but the character was still Captain Marvel.

Oh snap! The next Avengers movie will be interesting then!

It's very clear why they got Brie in this role.

They want to lighten up Captain Marvel and make her more vulnerable, which is fine. I can't describe it well, but it seems she'll still have the hard headedness of the solider trope, but not full on like a general and such.

I liked the shot of the different phases of her life, the rest wasn't doing much for me. I have pretty high hopes for this movie but I'm not impressed so far. Maybe I'm just spoiled from Wonder Woman.

This is making me want to pick up some Captain Marvel comics.

Every time I see a post like this I ask why. They haven't been able to legally call Shazam Captain Marvel for decades, even predating the birth of most of the posters on this and just about every other forum that cares to discuss it.

Not true, DC is allowed to call their character Captain Marvel just that they aren't allowed to use the name for marketing reason hence why they re-branded the series Shazam.

Plus it's a cute joke that will probably confuse most people, even me when I first learn about Captain Marvel.

Gonna be honest, the "I forget who I was" angle doesn't do it for me, but we'll see.

If anything I except this to be a good popcorn film like Ant Man, but as always I feel like it could be more.

honestly I'm just here for the helmet

I am kinda "meh" about them leading with the amnesia angle, tho

I know she's had memory problems in the past (my favourite run of her ends with her actually losing her memories while fighting Minerva) but it's such a played out trope

Helmet shit and the binary mode at the end were pretty damn dope. Also the de-aging tech is only getting better.

It's not the greatest trailer but you bet your ass I'll be there and I'm sure the movie will be great. Shout out to punching grandma.

Secret invasion is almost definitely coming.

I can also tell that I'm not the new market they're trying to hook so maybe the trailer is better intended for them. Reactions from women on my Twitter are the way I felt about the BP teaser which was fuego.

No doubt that this movie will be bare minimum good.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest the people hating on this trailer also think Blade Runner and Interstellar are the best science fiction movies of the last two decades.

Wasn't Ragnarok's initial teaser weak, and then that trailer with the nice music dropped and everyone went, "WOOOOAAAH"?

I liked this teaser and I can't wait for the full reveal.

The second trailer for Ragnarok was great too, but the first teaser with the Immigrant Song had tons of views and was pretty well-received.
