Good/Great Cinematography In Not Great Movies

Mamma Mia 2, while a fun film in its own right - had amazing cinematography and editing. I was pleasantly surprised.

Did anyone mention Man of Steel? Cause MoS to me is one of the best looking CBMs.

I feel like most of Zack Snyder's movies can apply to this thread. The dude's movies are mostly okay-tier but visually look great.

Snyder's sole talent is making pretty stills. Or copying them from other sources. Really he should just make music videos.

Someone made me watch Street Fighter: The Movie in black and white once, because allegedly it had great lighting and composition. I don't really know a lot about this stuff, but it certainly made the movie a lot more striking.

I would agree lol. Tho Dawn of the Dead I consider solid remake and that Owl movie was cool too, not just pretty

The Fountain

Mute can look really good, but it sucks so much that I couldn't even finish it.

Most recently for me I'd say mother!, it's a gorgeous movie that's edges on good but is mostly just okay.

This movie would be genuinly great if not for the whole sequence in the house that destroy the pacing
