Yeah that's the thing, it's really sad to see people demanding Brandon not do this or that because they don't like someone. We're not stock holders in Easy Allies. Brandon hasn't been endorsing Colin's views. It's ultimately Brandon's decision and people should respect that.

I think it's wild that people are demanding what the Allies do. I've always seen the Patreon as a subscription service, so if you really don't like something, get rid of your pledge.

Which is exactly what I plan on doing if Colin ever gets involved with the Allies.

They can do what they want, but I would be far less likely to support someone in the future if my money could potentially be going towards giving people like Colin a platform.
yeah, that's fair. i don't think brandon is paying colin to appear in his show tho. i also agree on reverse, colin won't probably fit well on a eza produced content

I don't think anyone was telling Brandon what to do, but rather how they felt about the matter, since Brandon asked for the audience's input. But yeah I think it's best to keep in mind that you're there to leave feedback for Brandon and just leave it at that.

Brandon asked for people's feedback and it was provided. The language of the feedback was in line with what Jones was after, it's more the follow on that happened on a lot of those comments.

To the people saying people are holding him hostage that is such a gross misrepresentation of what's happening. We were asked how'd we feel and we answered all the comments I read yesterday were respectful and nobody took any kind of blackmaily stance to begin with just listing all the reasons why people rather avoid collabs with Colin.

Also this in the end this 100% holds, even if people would drop their pledge because of Colin getting involved nobody should take affront to that.
In the end everyone is free to do what they feel is right nobody is forcing anyone to do anything.

Thanks so much for this <3

I hope you can all find it in your hearts to consider The Mole this week, and ensure it isn't (ironically) sabotaged by an unknown force

Seems like a lot of work is gonna have to go in on their part, figuring out goals. And define "sabotage".

And better hope the "bad" person doesn't get figured out within the first 5 minutes, or it'll be a pretty boring 2 hours of just random stuff.

Sabotage would just be causing the team to lose when they are playing. For instance, you could pretty easily sabotage Splatoon Slamon Run by 'accidentally' not reviving people or constantly missing the enemies when you shoot.

And in long form "espionage" games like this, given a long enough time, everyone will suspect everyone else. If they got found out in the first 5 minutes, all they need to do is vehemently deny it and eventually the accusations will move to someone else.

Well, its up to the votes.

The concept is original, but at the end of the day, they are playing Splatoon and overcooked again, just with a very small twist.

And honestly? Ehhh............

It was games they never played before, then I'd be more on board personally.

I know they're friends and all but still, I can't help but think significantly less of Jones over that. Colin Moriarty and his toxic fanbase are not the kind of people EZA should be trying to attract.

Yep. Same. I'm scared for Ian.

And no matter what side you're on it's clear that Colin is an incredibly devisive person and inviting this can only garner more infighting amongst the allies fans like that mess on Patreon. It sucks and I'm sad it's even being entertained.

I have stated I'm happy for them to choose whatever games they want, the three I stated were just suggestions. One of the comments suggested taking the three highest voted co-op games and using those, which would be fun :)

The Deep North
Group stream selection committee is up. Tregard Murasaki

Thanks! I think I'll take a few weeks off before re-proposing, but Yakuza 0 Minigame Selection will return! Actually, I may have lost a few votes next time thanks to Cup of Jones comments, but the Moriarty issue is (likelihood aside) important to me.

I feel the same way as you and Holundrian.

Edit: I like the new avatar Toon Link, only just noticed it.

I don't know how long I can support the Allies...

Currently, I'm running out of money because of loan payments. Been trying to raise more money. I stopped my cellphone and sold my Transformers collection(That was a sad day). I might have to cut my internet as well.

Until that day when I pull my money, I will support them. The Allies and their streams keep me sane. I don't know what will happen if I can't watch them.

Any ideas on supporting them? Should I send a package/letter?

As long as you still watch their videos, love video games, and show Love & Respect, you will always be supporting them.

Did they remove the video form because I can only see the rss version

I don't have as much of a problem with Colin as most do but can understand the concern, and yeah that tweet wasn't good. I always liked his input on video game discussion as it balanced out Greg

Watched a few Colin was right videos on the recommendation of gaffers and they were absolutely terrible.

So I'd probably skip any EA video he was on. But they already put out more stuff than I can watch anyways so that wouldn't be a big issue.

Would love to see Brandon on Colin's show just to see how it turns out. I don't follow Colin's content a.) especially if he doesn't have a counter voice, he can be super insufferable and b.) his tweets yeah. The asian one specifcally is the special kind of "you know... fuck off forever"-opinion.
Since I hardly take a 100% block and ignore-stance with anything really, though, as I said, would be interested in Brandon appearing on his show. Not the other way around, though. Having the people Colin attracts coming to the EZA community can not be a good thing, and I have no idea why one would consider opening that can of worms. (you can argue Brandon appearing on his show would be essentially advertising also, but because this is Brandon more as a person imo, it's different)

Are they going to be done with tabletop when they end the campaign or will they continue? Listening to it they keep saying last episode but no mention of if it's the campaigns last episode or tabletop escapades last episode once they are done with the campaign.

I just got to a part in the episode where they clarify it's the end of the 'season' not 'series', so they're likely going to do a new campaign.

I'm terrified of the idea of Colin's fanbase being brought over to EZA :/

Go look at the comments for the most recent Easy Allies Podcast. That type of people are already here. This is concerning but not nearly as concerning as the subset of Easy Allies fans who wanted the guys to play that volley ball game with the underage girls.

Won't try to tell Jones what to do, not up to me of course, but i would be incredibly disappointed if there's any participation of Colin on EZA or himself with Colin.

This dude is trash as a person and i'm very thankful when ResetEra positioned themselves against any content from him on this forum.

I'm at work so I can't listen to it again to get a direct quote but here's a conversation between Brandon and Colin where Brandon says he wants to be on colins show:

Well then that's happening... Disappointed, but not surprised in the slightest. I might be more cynical and wary about this sort of thing than others, though.

True, and - this is not aimed at anyone in particular but a general trend I've noticed - I think it's about time for people to stop hand-waving those commenters away as 'not part of the community' aka 'not our problem', or a result of brigading or 'it's just youtube' or whatever. I doubt the podcast is a likely target for drive-by trolling given its barebones presentation and lack of searchability, and speaking personally much of the most insidious stuff I've seen and dealt with around EZA has come from longtime twitch subbers, prominent and celebrated Patrons, and regulars on the official forums and discord (seriously that discord sometimes... yikes)

Well anyway, I wasn't expecting much from Mario Mix, but the latest group stream was great. I agree the strength stat on Chewbacca was fudged and The Finalizer is a cool name #KyleWasRight

If Jones went on Colin's show, I'd feel a little weirded out. If Colin started appearing on Easy Allies content, I'd probably drop my pledge. Not really out of outrage, but more that it's a statement of where they're heading in terms of collaboration and I wouldn't wanna support that.

I'll be as blunt as I can here: Colin is a racist and a sexist. The boys have every right to do what they want but I'll personally be very disappointed if anyone gives him the time of day at all. He is a bad person.

Jones is hearing a lot of feedback.

He probably should have waited for some of that feedback before confirming with Colin that he wanted to be on his show. I don't think things would have spiraled out of control so much. There was someone calling a fellow patron a "bitch" in the cup of Jones post, today's been a pretty sad day for me today. I guess it's good to get a reminder of just how toxic the video gaming community is.

I don't have a problem with jones going on a show with Colin. Can see an issue with him on eza content though, even though I would find a lot of interest in it.

Colin is a prat. Would there be any value in actually posting some of the bs he's said/done in the past on the patreon or is that petty.

I hear you, but there's no barrier around the EZA community, since EZA's content is public. Look on YouTube for any video involving Ian and you'll see the same people you're fearing. The EZA community can't shut them out-- all that we can do is drown them out by engaging in the discourse around EZA content. As members of the EZA community, and especially as Patrons, we have a responsibility to do that. Those who choose to react to whatever EZA does by removing their pledge and saying nothing?; that's their right, but they're removing their voice in the process.

I hadn't read the YT comments since the podcast went public. Reading them was a mistake. Now I'm depressed. So many fucking stupid people out there.

Yeah. By no means do I mean to say what Jones should or shouldn't do, but I wouldn't be comfortable supporting EZA with my money if Colin were to get involved with them in any way. And honestly, I can't help but feel a little disappointed already that it has been considered at all after the shit Colin has said.

I really hope Jones takes that feedback to heart.
