Ugh... I hate knowing that if we get Katamari music, it'll end up on Pac-Land. I've said it before but it deserves to be said again.

I mean, 2 lines is a lot in a Smash trailer.

It's still not really fangirling though. You make it sound like she's fawning over him but she just comments on the tome. That's it! Tomes!

Little Mac, Palutena, Corrin, Bayonetta and of course
Big brother turned into big sister?!?
He's really mastered [the power of the true dragons] it, hasn't he?
Well of course, you're talking about MY big brother

If we get Katamari music, it better be on its own stage with the King of All Cosmos and his galactic bulge in the background.

Why do so many people call her Isabella? is that a game reference?

Nah, Isabella's just a more-common name. A lot of people are probably getting autocorrected without realizing it when they type it.

Either that, or people don't know the character, like the many Smashtubers who were trying to make the most of preparing a reaction video for Isaac or something, only to get a character they only had a cursory knowledge of.

They do need to find a way to address Pac-Maze's absence. Remake or replace the stage with something similar in the DLC run. Pac-Land being the only Pac-Man stage is just weird. It'd be like if Cloud's stage was from, idk, Mystic Quest.

I'm still hoping DLC goes ham with this idea. Imagine having Dovahkiin, Crash, Shovel Knight, Banjo-Kazooie, & Travis Touchdown fighting deep-cut characters like Bandana Dee & Rowlet (Still holding out hope for a Jigglypuff echo)!
I gotta say the idea of Bayo fighting the Dovahkiin makes me super hyped. I know there are people out there that say it's dumb. Forget those people Smash is at its best when it throws things you never see coming at you.

Why do so many people call her Isabella? is that a game reference?
Personally I can never remember how to spell her name so it just comes out like that.

I think that Elma could simply be announced in a trailer they drop, like with Robin. Or she could be in the next Smash direct.
I'm thinking Incineroar will be announced next sometime in October. Elma will be in the Smash Direct because she'll have a stage with her and I don't think Incineroar will have one.

I'm with you for the most part, but the King of All Cosmos is my secret "I would be more excited for him than any other character but I also acknowledge he has no chance of getting in so I'm not putting myself through this" Most Wanted character. And my most wanted, remaining viable character is the Doomslayer, so you know the King of All Cosmos has a low chance if I consider Lt. Murderman as a more likely pick.

That said, they could swing the King being both a background element & a fighter. He's weird; he could be in 2 places at once, probably.

Who's that obscure Nintendo character #75? This one's tough!

Well, he's a tough guy at the least.

Pac-Land's absolutely back; it's been shown a couple of time in all it's MS Paint-tier glory. It's Pac-Maze (The level you think of when you think "Pac-Man") that's missing.

You're thinking of Pac Maze the one that's based off of Pac Man's arcade game. Pac Land is the stage that's based off the game Pac Land.

Ah, I was about to say! Thanks for the clarification. Glad MS Paint art exists to some capacity in Smash Bros.

Honestly, the closer we get to the end, the less likely Elma becomes. I'm not really sure about her at this point, especially with Rex & Pyra waiting in the DLC wings.

I started thinking it might have been a W101 character, but it looks like HeartSkips got it before me.

I'll be honest, I forgot about Chewgi entirely.

I was thinking Wonderful 101 as well, but I couldn't decide on how the image was supposed to be oriented to begin with.

If we have 5 stages left

Pokemon will definitely get a new stage if Mario and Zelda did, xeno blade x stage, Minecraft stage, 2 new franchise stage
I'm kind of doubting that we'll get a Pokemon stage. I imagine the main reason why we got one for Mario and Zelda is because they were essentially asset rips. They probably asked the EAD teams if they can lend the assets for New Donk and Breath of the Wild stuff and that's how we got Plateau and New Donk. It's also why I think we'll get a Xenoblade X stage.

Comparatively Pokemon would need to remaster Sun and Moon assets or make new ones and Pokemon's already gotten alot of love for it's other remasters. Of course Sun and Moon were the other big games that happened in between Smash Ultimate and Smash 4 DLC that can get a new stage so maybe it can get a new stage but I don't imagine people will complain if it doesn't happen.

What was everyone else's most hyped character for each entry of the series? It doesnt have to be your main or whatever, just the newbies that you were really excited to try out
Melee: I guess I was a little too young to care very much at this time. Maybe Marth? Just because he was cool and mysterious.

Brawl: King Dedede. I was a huge Kirby fan at this point in my life, and Dedede was always my favorite character in the series. I want to say I was excited about Lucas too, but I checked the dates and the Mother 3 fan translation released after Brawl released, so I guess my memory must be wrong on that point.

Smash 4: Mega Man and Cloud. I've always been a huge Mega Man fan, ever since Mega Man 2 and 3 were among the first video games I ever played! As for Cloud, the FF7 vs Ocarina of Time and Sony vs Nintendo rivalries were a big part of my childhood, so it was just so cool to see Cloud in Smash. Felt like healing over some old childhood wounds, haha.

Ultimate: Richter and Isabelle. I've only played two Castlevania games, one of which was Rondo of Blood, which I absolutely loved. So what an awesome surprise to see Richter here. I love it when Sakurai puts in one-off characters from niche but really good games; it just shows off how good of taste he has. As for Isabelle, I just think she's really cute, and she is a way better representative for Animal Crossing than Villager. IMO, the fun part of Animal Crossing is getting to know the animals with their quirky personalities, which Isabelle delivers on. The Villager is just a blank avatar character and doesn't really show off the wonderful personality that the series has.

Count me among those that are (sadly) losing hope for Elma.

Though, assuming that Box Theory is indeed bunk, if Xenoblade can make it to the last Smash direct without getting any music on the site, I'd be fairly optimistic towards her odds.

In the case of Sun/Moon, I'd imagine that Sakurai could have enough time to make an Alola stage if development started on August 2016 (as stated by the guy who did the lighting engine). Xenoblade X also would have more than enough time for Sakurai to make a stage without having to rely too much on asset rips.

My current theory is that she's being saved for the Smash Direct and will be announced alongside another Stage dump.

I mean, I'd be more than down for that. But between the possibility of the box theory panning out & the supposed Square Enix rep that Imran & Vergeben are alluding towards, I'm not sure if there's much room for Elma.

If a theory came out suggesting the game would have 70-ish characters back when the port vs. not a port discussion was happening, people would definitely be more inclined to believe it. But now that we've had a ton of characters revealed people feel entitled to more and don't want to believe there's only a few left. People are clearly trying to convince themselves the box theory couldn't possibly be true, when in reality we just don't know. It just comes off as ungrateful.

I'm one of the people not putting too much stock in the Box Theory because for one it's being used just for America and I don't think an American marketing branch will have the full roster. Also the Box we see on the preview is probably what's used for retail and reflects the roster as of the Smash Direct just like how the European special edition also reflects the Smash Direct roster. It's just weird how they made a preview for the Box shortly after Isabelle's announcement but it doesn't have Isabelle and that's leading me to believe the box itself is potentially final.

what if there are more than two characters
