Look like Goku isn't well known as you emphasized that he's. HARD DISCONFIRMED, SORRY BRUH!

Ni5ffVq.gif

He punched him in the dick! Why? Why is he punching Goku in the dick?

Wait you can make Miis on the Switch?

Yes, but only as your Switch profile picture. Most people just go for a Nintendo character instead, anyway.

So apparently we are at 9 new characters at the moment (5 Unique, 4 Echo), wouldn't it make sense for this to be tied with Smash 64 for least amount of newcomers? But just 2 more echo and 1 unique would be depressing, so why not make it to melee then? 14 new characters, which assuming and even split would mean 2 more unique and 3 more echo. now THAT would make more sense, along with the 5 new stages that we're supposed to get. Box theory really needs to die.

Still remember people thinking we wouldn't get more than 8 characters lol.

I thought people don't think we would get more than 8 unique newcomers which could happens tho.

Wonder Babe for sure, I'm extremely wise for my young age but have little power, leadership, or judgement.

I don't know what's going on in in their description though, that's definitely not me

An infant with mysterious psychic abilities, but too young to really grasp their true power. Speaking of grasping, he loves cuddling and nursing, but only with cute, young babes.

this aint your daddy's box, it's got a whole world of discourse on it
Was initially hesitant to pre-order this version of the game over the one with the GameCube controller, but after the box controversy, I am keeping it as a tasty trophy when everyone's box theories don't pan out.

"Dante Gets Triggered"

l o L

Yeah, no. Working in the MH field, it's obnoxious to see people use this phrase. It's gotten to the point where I've gotten "triggered" jokes when trying to actually explain what triggers are in the first place...

Wow, an AX reference in Smash, that's neat

Huh... Glad to see AX get some love! I mean, I never played it, but AX is just Arcade GX so it can't be bad, right?

He's a villain so I guess he like to do cheap shot.

That's fair. Super Android 13 has spent years studying the human(oid) body to find structural weak points.

If I'm being honest? That said, looking through the list reminded me "Wonder Daddy" is a thing & I laughed more than I should've, all over again.

Smash 4 considered them starting characters in pre-release media like demo pamphlets, even if you had to make one before they'd show up.
I mean, okay, but they're still locked off until then. And it still seems just as valid an unlock condition here, the game where you unlock everyone.

e: I mean the Miis in Smash 4 were treated weirdly anyway. They're prominently featured but you have to unlock tthem. I think you do need them for All Star but they don't show up in the actual mode. They're not allowed online. Share a slot despite being 3 distinct characters. Had separate trophies and needed separate miis made for each type but all shared things like the end movie.

And they're...actually still treated weirdly here judging by their total exclusion from Smash Down. Share a slot by all counts but they're counted separately in some numbering schemes while Pokemon Trainer isnt.

Read the All-Star dojo post while looking at things earlier, for got about this gem
When they're all lined up like this, it becomes obvious that there is roughly 6-year blank before and after Pikmin. While there have been big series since then like "Animal Crossing," "Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day," and "Wii Sports" it does seem that coming up with a completely new character-driven series has gotten more difficult recently.

For better or worse, Sakurai's really choosey about what new series to represent with playable characters in Smash. Otherwise, we would of gotten the likes of Isaac, Saki, Wonder Red, Dillon, etc a long time ago.

I took it more as a jab at there being new IPs in the meantime, just none in the same way as Pikmin

Less a jab than simply noting they are less character-based, as he says. This was around Brawl, right? It's funny how he eventually bit the bullet and included characters from the series he mentions (if one considers the Miis as "Wii Sports characters", which seems supported by the Wuhu Island stage), plus others one might consider even less character-based like Wii Fit. :)

Today's Item
Shovel Knight Assist Trophy
Blue armor, horns, and a shovel...that's right, it's Shovel Knight! With his trusty Shovel Blade, he can bury an opponent in the ground or throw rocks as he digs. He may even dig up some food.

So are people really still thinking the box theory makes sense when there are still 5 stages left? I dont know why everyone is so sold on the box theory being the final roster.

Lame that they reuse one of the Shovel Knight photos in the item section, but I think SK being able to dig up food is new info. So that's neat.

I'm not sure why people are willing to believe CoroCoro would passively reveal we have 108 stages despite nothing else in the section being new

Like I'm more willing to believe that people like ned are right and the Box will purposely not show everyone because of when it'd need to go into production than believe Nintendo woudl tell CoroCoro "okay here is all our August direct information and assets, also we have 108 stages not 103"

e: I'm also willing to believe there are more stages, I've always figured if there were more third party characters they would need a stage if nothing else. And I can see the merit in even Incineroar being the exception to ridley, k rool & isabelle not coming with new stages. But that's separate from looking at corocoro and going "yep, this is definitely not some mistake on their end"

108 stages from corocoro is real and not a leak. It's not a typo either, I mean look at 3 and 8 on the number pad and tell me how someone can mess up that way? Personally, the box theory is dead to me but i'll eat crow if it is correct.
