Best thing we did? Placed a tracer dart of our own on an enemy rc car who was looking for us. He proceeded to drive the rc car back to his own location to pick up giving us his exact position.. where he looked at it.. realized something was off, looked up at the four of us in the windows as he attempted to panic shoot... He didnt make it

Cant wait to hear their feedback write up

Literally all they have to do is find a better armour balance without killing the good TTK, tweak op perks like dead silence and awarenesa, and buff guns like SMGs

It really is near perfect

I have a couple of questions before even considering buying this game.

  1. Is Blackout scheduled to have more maps than this?
  2. If yes, are they going to be locked behind the season pass?
The reason I ask is i usually get Call of Dudy games on sale around Black Friday for $30. I play the single player because they remind me of a summer blockbuster. I won't be touching the multiplayer or Zombies so I'm paying $60 (if i buy it day one) for Blackout.

Well regarding zombies, I have somewhat of a zombie-phobia, the most I can stand was the movie Zombieland and the anime Highschool of the Dead but even there I couldn't bear half the scenes and the most I could play was Left for Dead 2 with modded models but there isn't any chance in hell I'll play the zombie-mode in any CoD. It's the same kind of thing others have with spiders I guess.

As for regular multiplayer I would enjoy it from what I played in the MP-Beta but my friends already said they wouldn't. They aren't into small, fast-paced games and prefer something slower and more methodical, less twitch-based. Blackout works for them since you can play it slow and tactical and playing the multiplayer by myself I know I would get bored quickly :/
Fair point then regarding the zombies mode :) surely blackout freaks you out a bit then when the music plays?

You never know after a bit of time with them playing back out, there maybe some way to play 1 multiplayer match of TDM or something and ease them in from there lol.

They've said they plan to expand the blackout map throughout updates and special tweaks like we've seen this week with Zombies and the boss zombie.

I would say it's highly doubtful they would consider putting any blackout map behind a paywall, the season pass lists the following content which would suggest there will be no 2nd blackout map within the 1st year:

  • Classified," a bonus Zombies experience, available at launch
  • 4 additional all-new Zombies experiences
  • 12 Multiplayer maps
  • 4 exclusive Blackout character

A good test of the performance but I suspect they will drop it back to 80 players.

What makes you say that? The game (server-wise) ran fine at 100 players, they've been testing up to 115 internally, and everyone is hoping for more players per match. I do feel like they could use 1-2 more POIs if they're going with 100 players, and maybe 3 more if they're going with 115 as even with the handful of matches I had at 100 it felt a bit cramped. There's plenty of areas that they could develop further, especially the desert in the South East near Turbine.

I feel like as this game goes on, Reinforced and Trophy systems are going to become so much more valuable. The throwables in this game are so strong, often if you have a ton of them and you know where the enemy is you can just spam them out and get an easy kill. Trophy systems do have to be preemptively used and can be shot but it's so valuable to just be completely protected from throwables. And Reinforced isn't as effective as the Trophy System but it's much easier to use, and it's a lot better then not having it at all. I feel like the Trophy System doesn't have a high enough drop rate though, and it's really weird that Molotovs are restricted to 1 per stack but Clusters and 9-Bangs can stack up to 2. I feel like all 3 are on the same power level (with the Molotovs being the weakest of the 3 but not by a bit) so they should all stack up to the same amount, probably just 1 per because they're so strong.

The majority will be playing on base systems, so I think 100 might be introducing more performance issues. Time will tell I guess,

  1. Unknown
  2. Knowing Activision if they do a new map it will definitely be paid.

I liked 100. Some games had very hectic starts (which was a bit missing before) and loot was slightly scarcer mid-game.

Just got kicked during a solo match with like 10 people left.

Was kind of fun overall, but I don't feel like this is a particularly interesting BR game, and I also don't really think CoD's gameplay lends itself well to a BR mode. Wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll buy BO4 unless zombies & multiplayer are particularly good, though multiplayer is shaping up to look like a worse version of BO3.

the MP beta was much better than BLOPS 3. It wasn't even close.

Hm. I will have to see. It looked like they took out a lot of the movement mechanics to me from the original gameplay trailers or whatever, though.
BO3 is by far my favorite of the CoD multiplayers, especially the way it was handled on PC, outside of the shitty microtransaction stuff.

Now that I got a chance to try the beta on Xbox One X as well, I must say that the game seems to run better on PS4 Pro for some reason. Also the controls felt somewhat more responsive on PS4.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the game has a higher input lag on Xbox machines. I know that BF1 had 125ms input lag on XB1s when it had only 75ms / 80ms respectively on Pro / PS4, according to NX gamer.

And yes you are right the game runs better on Pro according to VG tech tests.

Really liked it by the end. At first finding a squad was pissing me off. Everyone was an asshole. For whatever reason later on, it was for the most part nothing but nice people that actually wanted to play together. Not sure why I had such polarizing experience. The only thing that concerns me moving forward is what I probably like the most about Fortnite. Will they have custom skins and emotes? I know it's more serious but it doesn't hurt to have a little fun with it. Will they have a dedicated team working on blackout? A game like this needs to be constantly adding new things and events to keep things interesting in my opinion. Anyways, they did a great job on this.

Have they announced how they're doing unlockables? I wonder if it's going to be more like WW2 or if it'll be like Infinite warfare, or black ops 3?

For Blackout? Some characters will be unlocked via basic progression (leveling), and some characters will have character specific missions. For example if you want to unlock Battery you'll have to get kills with the War Machine while finishing top 15. And Supply Drops for cosmetics (character customization, weapon customization) is always a safe bet.

Was able to play a few rounds of 100 players before the cut off, definitely felt like matches had a faster pace to them with the extra 12 players so I hope they're able to keep that amount.

Overall I had a really good time with it, even with randoms, my main issue is the armour which they've said they'll be addressing further so I'm curious to see a full breakdown of what they're looking to change for the full release.
