Yeah I agree... Unless the third DLC is their way of introducing Venom and set the table for the sequel (please note that I have not finished the main game yet so no ending spoiler please).

Rad. More than anything I want Venom/Carnage, but I trust they have some good ideas regardless.
so I guess The Heist is the first one next month with Black Cat; second in November is Turf Wars and third in December is Silver Lining (so probably Silver Sable focused)

Not sure tbh, but a sequel seems like a given the way the ending is set-up.
I would like to see a Venom, but Carnage seems to clash with the tone of the game if you ask me. Maybe I don't know enough about the character, but isn't he like ultra violent and very 90's in that way?
That is how Carnage has been portrayed generally, yeah, but they've taken such liberties with other characters that I don't see why they couldn't come up with their own thing. Honestly though I found the writing and tone of the game to be pretty eye-rolling most of the time so I wouldn't personally be concerned about them going in a different direction with the DLC.
golgo 13 is good trashy funBianca's introduction to Anime is the same as mine(with a friend though not brother) except the first Anime I ever watched was Barefoot Gen as a young kid which sort of fucked me up. Then I saw the Fist of the North Star movie, Golgo 13 movie & Akira. After that I knew I was on board. Still have the ORION VHS tapes.
What didn't you like about it? I actually really enjoyed the tone of the game, but I'm not really well versed in the source material. I've only watched The Animated Series as a child.
Honestly the reception of the game's writing has been nearly universally positive. They maintained the spirit of the character very well, which is a lot more difficult than it sounds when you have such a popular character and have to make it work in a different medium.
Maybe the tone isn't to someone's taste, but the writing itself is pretty spot on.

Most of my issues with the writing/plot so far have just been it feeling kinda disjointed at points rather than anything outright bad. I've talked about the end of act 1/start of act 2 stuff before but I got a little whiplash from it, and there's a couple other points like that. Some of it just comes with the mission structure, but then again some of it just makes me think they needed to be a lot more willing to do cutscenes (or several of them) before dropping you back in the world.
and, then, well, there's the cop stuff too but I've said my thoughts there as well; if anything it's gotten better but also slightly harder to buy other parts now that I've immediately heard Peter actually use the word "fascist", hmm

I agree with most of this. Puzzles are fine but the jumping can be a bit iffy. It wasn't really an issue in the old titles because you didn't need to jump much, in this one, you do.
I like the new focus on puzzles, and after 11 hours, the combat doesn't really happen more often. Unless the pacing changes dramatically for the second half of the game, there is a looot less combat than in the previous 2 titles.
I agree exept there seemed to be more point to the stuff you collected in Rise than there is in Shadow. And there's a lot to collect in Shadow.
Should they make another one i really hope they drop some of the collectathon aspect. Aside from the story, it's the worst part of the game.

I wonder if it being PS4/PC isn't helping; most of the VN stuff he's played has been on handhelds, and I assume that'd help due to his commute and all that
I wish it was on Vita cause I'd play it more too
especially as if I want to play it while eating I have to use Remote Play on my laptop and it works horrible despite literally being across the room with a very fast internet connection

I don't know about the series but I enjoyed the film(I'm sure it's the same which as you say is some good trashy fun).
The series is good for a handful of episodes. It depends on how much you can tolerate every episode being essentially the same thing. Like Detective Conan, but instead of Conan solving yet another locked room mystery, it's Golgo shooting yet another highly-secure target. Just a 50 episode string of unrelated missions, from what I remember.
Not sure how I'm feeling about the Trials beta so far (aside from the core gameplay being solid as ever) but the high schooler in me got a kick out of hearing a Sum 41 song in a game for the first time in ages.
Dan is going to be such a pain in this GOTY when Spider-Man gets brought up, judging by the Beastcast.
It's a personal GB list. If he doesn't like it that should be reflected in their list. It's a reflection of no one else's opinion or enjoyment of the game. I think people tie their own validation of games too closely to GB's totally arbitrary lists.
I dunno; I would hope he didn't play ZTD on 3DS vs the Vita, but I don't think I ever actually listened to the GOTY discussion of the ZE games to know either way
but I was mainly comparing to ZE + AA and only mentioned the Vita because that'd be the realistic handheld platform (beyond Switch) for this specifically; I don't think he's played anything beyond that VN-wise, though in terms of actual VNs on the Vita there's not really that much mock-worthy out in English

Nah, it'll pretty much go the same way it went on the Beastcast with some additional Jeff dunks. He's the only person I've heard complain about Spider-Man being a "dweeb".
