Sakurai has to be at least a bit furry, because without the furry bias he would revert the Star Fox crew to their finest designs, the SNES ones. Wolf would be a muppetified version of the Star Fox 2 one.

All I know about wrestling is that you can't keep the act up forever. Eventually they'll slip up and the kid will see that just because they're the bad guys in the ring it doesn't mean they're the bad guys in real life. That's why if the Professor Beef's and Brock Reiher's in this thread are smart, they'll be proactive and start playing to smarks like us.

Inceneroar's reveal will be the sure-fire test. If his model contains highly detailed muscle modeling and screenshots contain gratuitous crotch close-ups, there will be no question that the theory is right.

I think it might have to do with Fox's, and especially Falco's, Zero uniforms being more blue, and wanting to differentiate Wolf even further from the other two's colour scheme.
That, plus there's very few characters with a purple colour scheme on the roster, while there's plenty of blue ones, and purple also usually is a colour associated with evil characters.

I dunno why they didn't go with maroon instead though, since that's the colour associated with Wolf in his appearances in 64 and Zero, which was the 2 last Star Fox games released (considering 64 3D here).
Perhaps the purple is an amalgamation of the Assault/Command/Brawl blue and the maroon from SF2/64/Zero?

If Sakurai was a furry, Krystal would've been in AND have been the first announcement for Ultimate

Strangely, the purple seems to come from Fox's Wolf coloring in Smash 4

Even if Incineroar and Ken are the only characters left, there's no way I can complain about this roster. It is incredible: every single Smash veteran is back, plus Inkling, Ridley, K. Rool, and Simon. The other newcomers and echoes are just icing on the cake.

The only missing characters I'm truly bummed about are Dixie and Chorus Kids.

Wolf will almost certainly have at least one blue alt for a more "classic" look. He had 2 blue colors in Brawl (counting his default)

His pink alt is already confirmed, and I expect the rest to show up in some form (although obviously heavily modified)

I used to use the white alt all the time in Brawl.

These threads can't seem to avoid going back to sexualized anthropomorphised canid characters. I'm bi but it's a little odd to be discussing whether Wolf is a "daddy" or Isabelle is their waifu. They're intentionally asexual characters if you want to actually care about faithful depictions of Nintendo characters. Closest is Birdo, but that lore is related to gender identity and not sexual orientation.

Star Fox is the most innuendo-laden Nintendo franchise there is. The fact that people interpret sexual things about it should come as no surprise to anyone.

What's the percentage of people who thought Tom Nook was being revealed as an echo fighter after Isabelle's reveal? I know if you think about it, that was never the case cause the Nooks are still in the Final Smash for Villager and Isabelle but they had me for that one second

I thought he was coming, but then I remembered he was in Villager's FS

Pretty much every YouTube reaction I've watched thought he was coming as an echo

If they had enough more characters, I'm sure Nintendo would've used them to open/close the September Direct. Or maybe they wanted to focus the attention on Luigi's Mansion 3 and I'm wrong.

Another 4 newcomers is certainly possible, especially in the remaining few months until release.

I think any more than 10 total would be unrealistic at this stage though.

You are definitely right in expecting another Smash specific direct, where they will potentially show off 2 newcomers and a couple of echo fighters. Something like before.

This is literally why I am not following the Box theory

I thought he was at first but then realized it was a transition to announce the next Animal Crossing.
