Managed to get a friend to unlock the dreaming city, was just showing them around explaining things, showed them the well and the mechanics, in come 4 people, group of 6 of us melting everything in tier 1.

Someone pops a tier 2, at the end my friend gets a seed....I told him he should do the lotto this week.

Also got my fifth Forsaken exotic, by Forsaken I mean I got my fifth year 1 exotic whilst playing Forsaken.

I love RNG.

It's crazy how much just doing Petra's 3 bounties levels you up, finally got round to finishing the final 1 and jumped up 5 levels.

I'm probably late to the party here, but I finally get what they are going for now with the leveling. You should do Petra's bounties first, then use the lesser Powerful Engram challenges (that give +1 whatever your max LL is) to hopefully bring up a few more pieces to your new max LL. I'm also now at the point where Dreaming City isn't a slog solo, still don't like the lack of LZs though, places are always dead due to how matchmaking works, which makes PEs a pain.

What's your rec for the 510ish range? Do Petra first and then hit all the weeklies?

Just finished the new strike, The Corrupted. It's the most beautiful thing I've seen in Destiny so far. Wish I could play it in 4K HDR :(((

Dang, I really need to jump back in tonight and play that strike if people think it's even better than Warden of Nothing, which for me is far and away the best strike Bungie has ever made.

No, I'm saying there's a middle ground that they willfully ignored. People didn't leave D2 in droves because it was too casual. It's because they had year 3 of D1 to remind them of how far the game had come and how far it had regressed in D2 in just about every single category. When people said they missed the grind, they weren't talking about grinding for planetary materials or making infusion so stupidly costly. They were talking about quests like Whisper, random rolls on guns, vanity items/armor/guns as percentage drops in strikes/nightfalls. And hell I'd love for them to lean into the RPG/MMO territory but they don't really do that. I'm not earning new abilities when I level. The levels just exist to cockblock me from doing activities. At least when WoW had me level up, they gave me new abilities. Or at least they used to. I have no idea what they do now since I haven't played it since D1 came out.

Infusion is a not a huge deal to me. They changed it, but its really not that bad if you change / adapt to the new system. Its this way now to give mats a reason to exist, and to give players a reason to play a little outside of their comfort zone.

Once you reach 600, its a non-issue again. They just moved infusion to the end game, which makes more sense with random rolls.

2 weeks in and gambit feels like a shit show to me, it completely imbalanced. the invasion system is garbage and linear fusion rifles make it pointless. I don't know how you would even balance this. liner fusion can one shot any guardian is just silly, even with a over-shield.
Linear fusion rifle them back.
You know what happens when you complain about the PvP aspects of a gun, you ruin it for all of us who use it for PVE

If I infuse a 540 weapon into a 500 weapon, will the 500 weapon actually become 540. Or will it be slightly lower, say 535 instead?

I can do Whisper with you sometime, need to do it too (on a sidenote, need to find ppl to do the Raid Lairs, as I lapsed after Vanilla...).
I can run the Eater of Worlds with you anytime. That one is easy on Normal

Yeah 500 weapon would become 540. You are better off just waiting on infusing until you are way higher and/or now that the weapon you want to infuse into is a god roll

Let me know if it's worth it so I complete the quest. I don't like shotguns in this game but if this one is worth it I'll go get it

it's a very weird shotgun. Almost useless in PvE and is purely a PvP weapon. You can basically outzone any shotgun with it, but it has to be a headshot to be effective. This is my non-pro opinion of the gun.

Yeah if anyone wants a Whisper carry or help with Prestige Leviathan or Eater of Worlds let me know. Be more than happy to help out.

Chaperone always sucked. Boggles my mind out of all the Destiny weapons to bring back, Bungie chose this one

If you're talking about the bit after where you jump up through the crystal hole, and need to edge the loading zone before dropping down again, then equip a sword and slowly edge forwards bit by bit until you see "Loading" and then quickly turn around and face the platform and hammer the regular attack button.

If successful you'll load the zone but lunge out of it at the same time. It's the trickiest part of the whole path to the chest. I still get stung by it, keep at it though.

Yea I managed it my next go. Dying while getting through that is very annoying now that you get spawned in a closed off area inside the raid though. I got the rocket launcher.

I actually run it in PvP quite a bit lol. It may not be the most effective but when you actually do get headshots with it and outplay people like that it feels incredibly good.

Gambit mode has been the best for me for not getting dupes.
Aside from the Class Item that is locked at Rank 6, I got the rest of the armor set and a good deal of weapons.

I wasn't even trying to complete the Chaperone bounty and it completed itself; I was huh? Amanda wants to talk to me? oh, the Chaperone, nice. And Kinetic, even more nice.

What is the name of Rank 6? is it Heroic I?

Right makes sense. But why waste an exotic slot on that when there is more consistent guns to use for that particular range? The instrinsic perk for it just isn't enough

The new strike is for sure the best Destiny has every had. Too bad such a big portion of the game like strikes are basically pointless outside the weekly/daily.

Hard to imagine console players keeping up given the speed and precision that was required last night. Not on day 1.
Everytime I look at this for Destiny I feel like people who say this are people who have only played on a PC and aren't used to a controller. We are talking about Destiny here, a game that has more aim assist than anything ever seen in an FPS. Just to note the biggest Destiny streamer out there plays with a controller.

This franchise was born on consoles and it isn't the first time Destiny has had precision and speed required for an encounter, infact every raid encounter till date has had people cutting everything really close and making it seem like the timing of it is super tight with no margin for error. All of that is because everyone is super underlevelled and the right strategies have not been figured out yet. In two month's time you'll see people run this thing in an hour or so. If I were to look at an old raid like King's Fall world's first I'll see the exact same super chaotic encounters with tight timing and the need for absolute precision and speed. And yet I remember over time we got to a point where we were able to do Kings Fall start to finish in 40 mins.

And while we are at it let's not forget that Bungie has primarily been a console FPS developer infact they are THE console FPS developer, much of what we see in console FPS these days was invented by these guys. Point being, they understand controllers and FPS more so than most other developers, and as such they will never design something that will be super difficult to pull off on a controller.

well, if it isn´t the fusion rifles, it is sniper, if it isn´t sniper it is rocket launcher with tracking...you can´t really balance this mode

Do other fusions have the same dmg / aim assist and catalyst?

Snipers require more skill. Surely that's obvious.

Rockets are easily avoided.

You serious with the above?

And yet, here we are. With ZERO completions from the largest base of players in the game.

Why do you think that might be? Or if you watched any of the Raid steams to see what we're talking about?

Which new super is best for warlocks
Completely depends on what you plan on doing.

Solar tree for Raiding. Arc tree for general fun and damage in normal PvE content. None of them for PvP, as Dawnblade remains the gold standard.

You do realise that's because there are literally no big destiny console streamers remaining right?
It's because all those big time Destiny streamers now now play on PC....and again it's not because of controller and keyboard divide....because Goth plays with a controller and he got to the last boss and almost beat it !

Watch his gameplay videos from last night and tell me if at any point it felt like he was coming up short because he was using a controller. It was purely because of people being underlevelled and it being a new raid with new mechanic.

What does that have to do with teams completing it? You don't need to be a streamer to go for worlds first. lol
