I just randomly came across this footage and uhh wtf? This looks extremely rad. I was always interested in this game though I remained sceptical towards the combat. But damn, this demo made everything look so fast paced and fun. Specially the last few seconds where the player fought the enemy mechs were really cool.
Definitely excited for this now.

Still unclear if this will have mech modification. From what I've seen it's only the weapons and the type of mech itself you can change it doesn't seem to have stuff like changing the plating or jets, etc. Doesn't seem to allow for need for speed style mech customization.
Most probably does everything about coop implies as such.

Dig the music but I think I'm gonna play the Robotech soundtrack over it from time to time. Looks amazing!

Games like this and Town give me hope for lots of unique mid-tier software releases on Switch in the future.
This. Would be great to see an emphasized AA tier of games again and not just Indie or AAA. I think some companies are already doing a good job in that regard.

Oh yeah, and DxM looks so much better than at e3 already. Seems like they did the right kind of tweaks to polish it even more. Framerate seems more stable and overall fluid.

Between this, the Custom Robo devs making a jew game, and potentially Xenoblade Chronicles X, the Switch is gonna be the defacto console for mech games. And its already doing work for other genres. But yeah, this game looks hype as hell.

Whoever is playing that needs to learn how to use the right thumbstick.

Oh yeah Synaptic Drive.

It's gonna be shown off at TGS too.

Looks fun but like it should run at 1.5x game speed or more. Put it like that on youtube and it still doesn't look too fast while certain animations still seem kinda slow (ie picking up the road sign). 2x speed is a bit too much but I think they need to adjust some elements at least to that, while leaving others (ie projectile speed perhaps) as is.

Great visuals, like a more grimdark EX Troopers (in a grander scale and quality, not saying it looks like a 3DS game obviously).

I've been craving for a mecha customization game for a while, but the combat doesn't look that great so far...

Going from hype to "cautiously optimistic".

Seriously ? I thought this was a given since the director comrs from Armored Core... If you can't customize mech parts I'll be seriously bummed, it's one of the best parts of mech games.

It's also been clear this isn't Armored Core since the beginning so no there aren't different leg types and shit to equip, you only change the weapons loadout of your mech and upgrade the pilot which affects the mech as you progress. If there was mech parts customization beyond that they'd have shown it. Maybe they'll expand to that stuff in a sequel if they don't think it detracts from the core action of the game and its style. This is like Sekiro vs Souls all over again or something.

You're right about it not having Armored Core's customization option but there still is customization for mech parts even if it's body types the same.

As far as overall comparison, gameplay wise it's very reminiscent of Armored Core but taking a bit from Gundam Breaker and A.C.E.

The E3 videos showed the loadout menu which had options to swap out body parts (probably no internals tho). They explicitly did not use those options in the demo so I assume they're not sufficiently developed to show to the public.

There are mech modifications as far as changing parts and there is stats to go along with we just haven't seen any gameplay demos of them doing it.

DAEMONXMACHINABanner_June14.png

It may not be as in-depth as say Armored Core as the stats are pretty basic, but you definitely can try to make a speed build if you wanted.
I'd like to think that to go along with this "Weapon Swap" menu there is also a "Body Parts Swap" menu like the L/R icon suggests. Would be nice to have options.

Did they have the guy from Doom do the music lol.

Looks fun. I liked Armored Core as a kid.

I hope there's a little more to the ground combat than what has been shown. The swords look like quick KOs instead of a hybrid play style.

PvP would be cool, but it seems like they're going the MH route.

I still don't see in which way this games looks "good". I personally find it technically quite raw, so far.
Kinda agree. The idea sounds good, but the animations need a lot of improvement. That robot didn't picked up that tank, the tank simply appeared on the robot arms. There is a lack of fluidity between the robot actions. Hope they polish this aspect before release.

Not sold on the ost either.

It seems heavily patterned after the later Armored Core titles where swords were just extremely powerful weapons that were difficult to land, mostly for letting high mobility builds counter heavy, slow moving ones. No blocking, parrying, etc, just swipes that either hit or miss.

Something that I didn't noticed from the HUD before was the three symbols next to your armor icons. They weren't highlighted or anything so I wonder what their purpose is?

I still don't feel like enough people are talking about this whenever there's new videos or news, that worries me about how it's going to sale, we don't have enough mech games already

I feel like this is gonna sell as well or maybe slightly better than previous games before it. The genre isn't a big seller, especially outside of Japan.

Is a brand new franchise in a genre that doesn't have particularly great sales. Is going to be a niche title but hopefully it will be received well enough to gain some attention.

hopefully it does well. i think if the game is good and polished it'll sell well because of word of mouth. and the switch base is very receptive to good exclusives, plus this is published by nintendo outside of japan so it'll be marketed well.

Wow this looks great! I just saw the video and will definitely pick this up for my mech-fix! :D My only gripe is, everything seems kind of slow? From the tank that gets thrown to the UI animations I wish things would be 25% or even 50% faster.
