What are the logistics of having a deaf general? Feel like hearing might be important...
Lmao right?such a shame bc clearly talented animators are behind it too
Just wrapped and I absolutely loved this. I need season two right about yesterday. I really wish the first season was longer. Although if Netflix churns out episodes at the rate they churn out Voltron episodes I'll be aight.
the writing is.... extremely eh. The dialogue particularly. The need to try and insert a joke in almost every interaction (At least 3 episodes in) is not working for me.
3 episodes in and I really like this. I love the character designs (the elves look amazing) and the lore is pretty interesting. I just can't get over the frame rate.
Check out character designer CT Chrysler's other work.

He's amazing. He needs a proper 2D animation sporting his designs.
What's horrible about them from a design standpoint?Just started watching this. I like the intro; feels very Lord of the Rings-ish. I don't mind the low frame rate but the human character designs are pretty horrible so far.
The worst has to be in episode 4 whenim sorry but the writing is just... WHAT.
(first half spoiler)
the heel turn from the mage and his two children from allies to the royal family and kingdom to just complete and utter evil and loving it is fucking dumb
That part was incredibly contrived lol I was also lost thereThe worst has to be in episode 4 whenthe elf girl is tied up, Bait comes in and flashes the guards and then the elf says some shit and the guards.... attack her????? And she gets free because she uses their swords to cut the rope. she cant do shit but sit there, and they attack her anyway
i dont know if i misunderstood something in that scene or what
I got the impression it's the "point of no return" for the elf assassins. They already reference how important certain traditions and honor are to them, this just seems like a way to bind them to completing their mission. Failure or hesitation will result in them literally losing their limb.btw why did they do the binding in the first place? I forgot already. Seems like a bad idea / poor deal.
Uh...im sorry but the writing is just... WHAT.

Is very barely noticeable more often than not. Especially once you get immersed in the show.
They make some odd choices implementing the low frame rate, almost every scene with the Aunt doing sign language were pretty smooth, but there are some really choppy scenes with the king. The slower the movement, the choppier it looked, and so most action was pretty decent, but small gestures suffered, so the king that barely moved seemed to be affected the most for me.Is very barely noticeable more often than not.
