If I wanted to hear you threaten to kill me, I would've asked you to. But no you're just going in my DMs telling me I'm subhuman for whatever reason. I'm over it.

Edit: uh that was meant to be a DM I didn't mean to post it here uh

If somebody from this thread is threatening you in a DM, you should report them. I don't know who it is, but I want that person to know that they're pathetic and really ought to rethink their actions.

you're talking to the wrong person, i wasnt the one who thinks its not possible at all, the other person did though. my stance is more or less "yeah i guess thats not farfetched to think they didnt plan it yet, but they are probably doing that now anywho regardless"

nice try though lol

i feel more confident about it now. they have probably started plans for this maybe a few months ago since the deadline is looming the more i think about this
But did you even read?

Quick questions. How the Pre-Load and Pre-Purchase works?

I can see there are some games that when you pre-purchase, also pre-load the game and you basically have almost the full game, and on the day of the launch it just update a small file that will let you play the game. Nintendo is well aware that people already is able to read those files, so I can see that the full reveal roster will happend on a direct where they also announce that they can pre-load the game already (to avoid leaks).

Saying this, its interesting to see that there is planned a smash bundle that include a download code for 1 month before launch (the 2nd of November). So if someone can Pre-purchase the game already, we will see the smash profile by the 2nd of November on the eShop for sure. But Im guessing this pre-purchases doesnt means that it can always pre-load right? (I think you can already pre-purchase things like Diablo 3, but I dont think it load anything in the console)

This is also something that can be related to the Press Codes. I think Nintendo are giving now those codes like 1 month or couple of weeks before launch (wasn't Mario Kart 8 Deluxe like 1 month before?). Is the pre-load active at the same time? meaning the Press codes are just pre-loads that get active?

I'm not sure how this works on Nintendo Switch, so if someone has more info, we could narrow by when we will know the full roster, and if it is the same than the Press Code, a Pre-Load by the 2nd of November doesn't looks so crazy.

What do you think?

Pre-load just lets you download the game early and it won't unlock until the date comes but even then, for smash's instance getting the code won't let you download it until December so like we would know the roster by that point. The code will just be on your account until they activate preload.

Yeah, I think by the time the game's ready to be pre-loaded, we'll already have the roster revealed.

you know

because of the box theory, the smash hype feels almost kind of empty now. its not because im not happy with the pics, its just "oh theres so little characters left to be seen it seems"

oh well there's still music and mode content to be excited over

and hopefully more stages (i think i was always partial to that but they already thrown us like 103 stages)

Guys I figured out what character Bethesda will get in Smash. Wolf, Duck Hunt, Isabelle. What do these characters have in common? They are all dogs, three dogs, ergo Three Dog host of Galaxy News Radio is Bethesda's character.

Note that this is totally wrong if Amaterasu somehow makes it in as a character, but she's probably going to be for the sequel Smash Ultimatest

Not really. The "small file" you mention can be designed so that one absolutely can't make sense of all the other files without it. Whether Switch itself or Smash itself does it, I'm not 100% sure, but it would be mind-boggling if neither of them did.

I have a hard time believing 69 will be the final number of unique newcomers which it would have to be, unless we're getting no more echoes

Can someone explain why we're taking box theory seriously and piled up on memoryman some time ago because of a brochure? Isn't marketing material always subject to change?

My man, you are so close to the "acceptance" stage but you're still stuck somewhere between "denial" and "bargaining" by trying to change what it means to be a semi-clone.

Apparently sharing three moves makes you a semi clone now. Isabelle has some similarites to Villager, but she's not based on him. Not even loosely.

I guess the difference is that the box looks pretty final when you add in isabelle and one more character on the side. The mural could easily be edited.

Yes, the same way Lucas also shares three moves.

Lucas's specials are all variants of Ness's and he has similar frame-data and not any radically different usage of special moves like Isabelle.

If we were to describe moves in really simple terms, Isabelle's moves have completely new mechanics in play in a way that no semi clone has.

And Isabelle has three moves that are all variants on Villager's, at least one of which functions exactly as his. Four, arguably, counting the dash attack.

Quit moving the goddamn goal posts.

By this definition Wolf, whom you called a semi-clone just a few posts ago, isn't a semi-clone, then.
ALL (!) of Wolf's normals are completely unique in animation, and while his specials are similar, they all have different mechanics compared to Fox's.

Maybe you should be a bit more consistent in your arguments.

Three moves is not enough to make a semi clone.

Look at Ganon. Even though he is so far removed from Falcon now, his four specials and a lot of normals are all similar in usage to Falcon's. If you know Falcon's specials, you have a basic grasp of Ganon's. Same with Wolf/Fox and such. Even Mario and Luigi kinda have this in their normals and framedata.

Isabelle's specials have to be used completely differently even in a basic level. You are not going to ride on a fishing pole or cut down a Lloid Rocket.

Even the Up Special has to be used very differently since it's likely not a free flowing move like Villager's.
