The only thing I really have to say about box theory is that Nintendo has been trying it's best to hide the contents of the game until they are ready to reveal it. They went so far as to not even let other Nintendo employees know that all the previous fighters were returning. So I wouldn't be surprised the Smash team only sent incomplete material to Nintendo marketing.

Besides, they haven't revealed the back of the box which we know includes the other half of the roster. Over 140 characters total!

As someone who has worked on ad campaigns with Nintendo, they definitely hide shit, even from the agency.

As much as Diddy is a Rare character and Sora is a Square character. But okay, think what you will.

Spring Man would be a fine final reveal for me, BTW. Better than anything Pokemon, anyways.
PlatinumGames doesn't really own any of the characters they created. Even Bayonetta is still owned by Sega.

Quite frankly the Xenoblade series is a weird combination of factors. I suspect Monolith Soft got a lot of money pumped into them because they also helped out a lot of other Nintendo projects, so they could make these lavish dense JRPGs despite not having brilliant sales prior to Xenoblade 2.

So you're saying we shouldn't take this box leak seriously?

No idea. Just know that, in the past, they've created ad material that doesnt reflect the final product in order to hide surprises.

Also know that some things have been spoiled by promotional material, so it goes both ways.

The box art leak has flimsy logic that only works because of a certain sect of smash bros fans. The type that get mad that every new character in is a slot they lose for their pet favourite Wishlist. It's cynical enough that people who want to justify getting mad at Isabelle believe it.

oops we accidentally revealed the number of remaining newcomers by showing the complete box art even though there are numerous instances of us using incomplete art in order to hide information yet to be released our bad

I think during the development during Xenoblade X Takahashi admitted that the budget they had was relativity small and was the reason why they had to cut corners including having a less involved story.

Does anyone here still believe in the chair theory?
*gasp*

Chair and box theory combined.

I believe the chair theory was true, and also it hinted at Isabelle. I don't know how it did that because I haven't played any Animal Crossing except the first and I can't deal with games where I have no goal to achieve but that's definitely how it happened.

Didn't Vergeben not predict K. Rool? Not saying he's wrong, just saying he doesn't know every character.

Pichu
Young Link
Pokémon Trainer
Daisy
Richter
Chrom
Dark Samus
K. Rool

has literally only guessed 3 massively popular characters (Ridley, Simon, Isabelle) and 3 vets (somehow not knowing that everyone was back)

in other words, super duper credible

Animal Crossing has odd colored furniture you can use to decorate with.

Boom, chair theory saved.

" Also we have literally edited our art, in the last few trailers"

That is the problem... the art does not feel that will receive more edits because they carefully edit so it looks like it is filled to the max since the start

Here they literally blacked out 2 slots.

And they could have EASILY filled those 2 slots if they wanted

The decision to rearrange the furniture in the studio was a reference to Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.

Are we really pretending that Simon was a super popular prediction before Vergeben?

The main character of a prolific, historically eminent game series who regularly appeared in character polls and user wishlists?

Yeah pretty popular. It's a lot weirder to pretend that he wasn't a popular prediction among third party candidates.

Isabelle sat in a chair in her trailer

Yeah but then that would be 4 for 4 on unique newcomers that he's said and since Decidueye was the far more speculated one prior to that, it's pretty hard to consider it a coincidence.
It could still be someone else. He just claimed we'll get a Gen 7 Pokemon and it won't be Mimikyu, Decidueye, or Lycanroc. Those are the comments he feels the most confident about. Incineroar wouldn't be in and as long as the other 3 aren't in he's still be legit.

I like the one that the chair is true and can only refer to the next time sakurai appears. Sakurai didn't appeared for isabelle

Since we can only have 2 more they will reveal Skull Kid and Ken and then the Sakurai background will hint at the first DLC

Wait, wait, wait. I think I've got it.

What if the chairs were hinting at the game's final boss, Master Ass, since Sakurai's ass would logically be what are placed on his chair?

Or it could be a new boss duo. Master Cheek and Crazy Cheek.

Count me in as...#TeamFace, was it? Whichever one thinks Incineroar is coming to Smash.
