Hey, I'm one of them! My series 0 has treated me well, but it's time to move on. I just figured I'd get 12 hours to get an order in. Luckily, I did at Best Buy.

This all comes right as the temperature is going to start dropping, and I'll start swimming more at the gym again. (Spend most of my time running outside when it's nice.) It'll be rad to keep the watch on when I'm doing laps.

My girlfriend uses the Series 3 for swimming (and triathlons in general) - swimming laps can be hit or miss, especially when there's no proper GPS coverage.
Myself, I just want something that i don't have to put on its charger for 20 minutes after i get home from work at 5pm, just so it doesn't die on me during my run :(
Like, i wouldn't even have to bother going on some winter runs with my Series 0 - these sub-zero degrees kill the battery no matter what charge.

I was so happy the Series 4 is such a meaningful upgrade.

Anybody have any case recommendations for the XS since they use the same cases as the X? Looking for something that protects it well without adding a lot of bulk to the phone. I'm done with Otterbox. All of their cases are ugly.

I have to say, I really hated hard on the watch because of the square face. Those new images and the extended screen and rounded edges make this actually look appealing. I might need to check out the Series 4 in person, I may want one if it looks nice enough. Still wish it was a full circle, but it looks much sleeker now.

Stock at stores has very little to do with shipping times. After the initial frenzy, Apple keeps stores stocked as much as possible. Like if you have an October ship date it's probably better to cancel and then use the store in-stock trackers and grab an in-store reservation for the model when it pops up in stock.

Yea I know stores allocate different stock, but the local stores in my area are all unavailable for release day. Rather secure the purchase, instead of bothering my friend.

Ordered a max and immediately canceled. Way too much money for an iterative upgrade over my X. Keeping eyes on Pixel 3. First time in a long time I've not upgraded. Probably since the 6. Enjoy your phones everyone!

charge shouldn't happen until it ships. If you have launch day.. charges should start appearing this weekend or monday or so.
Crap

I used my Apple Rewards card specifically because it had a free 18 months financing option for purchases before Sept. 25th.

But my phone isn't suppose to get to me until Oct. 5th, so I'm not sure if that means it'll charge by then.

I guess I can wait and see up until the 25th and if it hasn't charged by then I'll just cancel the order or try changing it to the monthly payments. :/

I can live with the distance being off. Mostly interested in the calorie count.

Checked T-mobile to see if they might be able to ship the XS Max earlier than the Apple store, but their insurance for the phone is crazy.

Old phones I've bought through them it was about $5-7, but the XS Max it said the monthly insurance for it was $14 or $15! That's nearly double what Apple Care is over two years.

Okay now for some reason, the model I want is available for in-store pickup on release day in all the stores near me, despite this not being available earlier. But my order from 4:30am EST is still a 9/28-10/5 delivery window. What gives?

Oh, shit! Tmobile has it to where I can get the XS with $0 dollars down this time! The X had a mandatory $280 down for everyone last year. I might be getting a XS!

Sweet, my ship date is already 1 week sooner than it said last night (was Oct. 5-12, now it's Sept. 28-Oct.5)

Still need to check that it'll charge my card before the 25th, but if it does I should keep my interest free financing on my card.

If not, I'll just cancel it or try switching to the monthly payment option.

I never called, but my card still has a pending charge on it. So they must have had the right address somewhere.

My wife's phone still doesn't have a pending charge though.

I never saw a charge but I just called Citizens One to update the billing info so I think I should be OK. My previous loan with them I think had the old address as well and I was getting deductions every month and it didn't seem to be an issue, so it might have been a non-issue anyway

My bank stopped Apple's initial preauthorisation attempt. They didn't like 1349eur being held on my new card. Fraud protection is great but it gave me a brief panic while I authorized the charge. Thankfully Apple has an option on your order to re-attempt preauthorisation so the money cleared without me loosing the launch day delivery.

I have an X and on upgrade plan - I want an XS or XS Max but I'm waiting for:

1) Duel sims will to be implemented by Apple and Verizon as this is the biggest reason for an upgrade for me (work and personal on 1 phone)

2) If I want a bigger phone - I used to have a IPhone Plus but the X seems big enough, not sure I want the extra weight and size. I want to handle them in stores and wait for reviews.

AT&T had me call them to correct a tax issue (they forgot to charge me tax). The rep asked me if I wanted to correct my "Ex-S" issue. I said yes, I want to make sure I fix the "10-S issue". She said "I don't see a 10-S anywhere, only Ex-S." Apple brought this on themselves.

I agree. I had an X all last year, and I still would slip and call it an X. they should have gone with 10s this time, and left the X as its own device

Man usually amazon had quite a few more cases/screen protectors by this time last year

Enjoy your max phones fella's. I've got a X and wish that size existed back when it came out, but alas it did not. Waiting until next year so I get two years for my iPhone X.

I'm curious but do any vendors allow trade-ins with an old phone for pre-order credit, immediately applying the credit to your pre-order (provided you ship the trade-in back as soon as you receive your new phone)? Or do I need to go into a brick-and-mortar store; I'd like to pre-order online and get a trade-in credit for my old phone, but I can't go without a phone for work purposes.

Hopefully LG improves their screens, as the one on the V30 was awful.

Also, screen lottery on a $1,000 phone is awful.
In the article
The sources said LGD's sixth-generation flexible OLED panels recently passed a series of Apple's quality tests.
They arent going to some shit screen.

While this thread is active, what on earth do people use to drag and drop music to their phone/creating playlists from pc and dragging to phone. NOT ITUNES

Hmm. Getting second thoughts about the colour after having a silver Apple Watch 44mm on lock for launch-ish (24th). Any order now would come way late.

Sucks that I can't ever be happy with my choices, I guess.

So the company that manufactures their own panels for their class leading OLED televisions has mediocre panels?

Phones screens are completely different than a TV screen.

I've been reading bad things about LG phone displays like burn in, light warping and just bad quality in general.

Why shouldn't I be worried if there's a 50% chance I'll get an inferior display for my $1,000+ smartphone? That's insane.

Luckily, if you read that article carefully, it seems like the first run of the phones are still Samsung, with LG being mixed in after launch due to quality issues in April. I hope that's the case. I'm going to be mad if I have to return my phone just to pray for a different screen. Apple quality tests mean absolutely nothing after the entire MacBook fiasco recently.

I've hated most of the LG phone screens in the past few years. Shame because their TV screen game is top of the line.

Jesus Christ, 430$ down for the xs max at T-Mobile. I have jump too so they will pay off my current x but that down payment is hefty man.

Yeah they really don't like people carrying $50+ monthly phone payments unless you've been with them for 3+ years and never have late payments.

I haven't inquired on the xs line but my note 9 was $80 down.

Quick question, does the Max have all of the screen/software advantages of the Plus line?

Also there's no trade in special for Verizon huh? Saw the pretty good 700$ off deal but you need to open a new line..

So close to switching back to apple after years of android.
Going back and forth between the xs and the max, I've currently got a note 8 which I sometimes consider too big, especially for one handed use. The Max should be a tad shorter but wider right?

Anyone ever use any of their cases? I really want the clear one.. just hope I get in time for launch lol

I've had good experiences with them. Peel is my go-to thin case but they're pretty expensive and their shipping is damn slow so I often get totallee cases instead. I got one for my Pixel 2 and it's going strong (Til I get my XS Max that is).

My wife's SE case fell apart really quickly for some reason though :/

You do realize you can purchase Apple care after buying the phone via TMobile? You don't even need to bring it to the store. They run a diagnostic remotely
