Another Direct, another showcase that skips over these games.

Nintendo's been pretty agressive with porting WiiU's exclusives, but I'm kinda starting to fear these two might fade away as actual WiiU exclusives. Really thought we would have at least seen an announcement by now.

W101 at least was indirectly (kinda) teased way back on Twitter, but afaik, TMS got nothing going on that we can latch onto as hope for a Switch version. :/

Thoughts?

Brother, I pray and chant and dance for a Tokyo Mirage Sessions announcement every time there's any kind of Nintendo-related event or stream... I'm waiting for it, and I'm shocked it hasn't been announced yet. That seems like such a no-brainer to me. It's such a fucking high-quality, mind-bending collab between Nintendo and Atlus, and an exemplary JRPG in almost every single aspect.

For now all the games that have had ports are those that were successful in Wii U so I guess that unless Atlus and Platinum press for it, no.

They're only porting games that have a chance at being successful commercially.

So no.
Sushi Strikers 3DS --> Switch ?

Of course TMS is getting ported - Switch is the answer for them to somewhat recoup the investment on these WiiU failures.
What bombed on WiiU can still perform solid on Switch - especially since its turning into a JRPG power house next year.

I saw a video of Marth floating on light and singing an over dramatic Jpop song and it was possibly dumbest thing I've ever seen so that one can stay locked away on WiiU I'm my opinion. (God bless you if you're into it.)

W101? Whatever. I'd bet it's coming, but I'm not personally invested.

I think they'll get ported. Maybe as an eShop-only release. Nintendo probably doesn't want to overshadow their new releases with tons of old games at a time. *side-eyes the impatient XCX port beggars*

Nope. I get the feeling Nintendo is only going to port games they think will be successful.

Don't forget Xenoblade Chronicles X. I'm waiting for that to be announced. That along with Wonderful 101 and TMS don't deserve to die on Wii U.

Hoping for Mirage as I want to play that. Would probably benefit from quicker loading times too!

They ported Bayonetta 1 and 2 and that game is niche.
Bayonetta 1/2 still sold much more than Wonderful 101, much more

Though still, i believe those games are being ported, just not a priority for Nintendo.they may try a downloadable only option at worst case

TMS is best rpg on wii u

Almost makes it feel like TMS is the modern, more common version of Panzer Dragoon Saga. Hopefully it gets ported, at least as a digital release.

Didn't take chances though and got it on Wii U. Maybe once I'm through some of the hot new games I'll go and dig into that.

Wonderful 101 shouldn't. The game was a sales disaster and the control scheme was nearly inaccessible for the vast majority of players. It would need some major remastering.

I mean look at how many ports the 3DS is getting.

At the very least we can expect Switch to receive similar treatment later in its life.

What are you talking about? All they'd have to do is make some stuff appear(that used to be on the gamepad) on the screen and that's it.

We need a chalkboard gif for the remaining Wii U refugees...

-SM3DW
-Pikmin 3
-PM Color Splash
-W101
-XBX
-TMS
-Starfox Zero
-Zelda HD Remasters

what else...

Ok no way I can argue against that sounding incredibly dumb, but lmao that also sounds incredibly amazing.

That's not a late port/deluxe version.
You wrote they are only porting games to Switch that that have a shot of being commercially successful.
Same difference.

Sushi Strikers was a new game for 100% of the Switch audience when it launched. TMS/W101 will be new to 99% of the Switch audiences when they launch.

Chances of these games not being ported down the line are very low.

there's like literally no correlation between them adding a switch version to sushi strikers and this thread

Maybe they're saving them for a slow 2020 year, similar to this year's lineup, if they manage to get all the upcoming new titles out in 2019.

They could use the chance to port and mildly enhance the games to the Switch to test the waters on a platform with a lot more users who also buy a lot of software.

Tokyo Mirage in particular seems right up Switch's alley considering that RPGs sell well and also are somewhat lacking on the system.

Actually there is...you are just moving the goalpost.
Sushi Strikers, Bayonetta and co. are showing that they are willing to bring smaller titles to the Switch.
Soon they will have brought over all the bigger titles from the WiiU gen over and then they are gonna start looking stuff like W101, TMS, Fatal Frame and co.

bomb on WiiU = no chance of being viable on Switch, thats a very flawed mindset.
You should better with all the sales and performance data we have from Switch titles in comparison to WiiU.

No ? You're the one trying to moving the point of my post for some reason. They've only ported from Wii U games that were already successful on Wii U or that had a chance of being on Switch. Neither TW101 or TMS are.
