Not worried about pre ordering this, with the iPhone X I was able to just snag one a week or so after release pretty easily at an apple store in NYC, these XS models will be readily available soon after launch

it's the Series 4 that I want to get my hands on

thirst for watch is real. buoyed by the fact that it's the ONLY interesting wearable on the market for like a year or two now.. plus the advancements of the Series 4 itself.

sucks because I Was psyched to finally retire my OG SS next week.. looks like I have to wait 2-3 more weeks. :(

I've got a few Apple Stores around me, so I'll be keeping my eye on in-stock stuff. Maybe I'll get lucky, but I'll probably be lazy and hope shipping estimates bump up.

Got my pre-order in for the space grey Iphone XS max turbo championship edition 256 gig and will have release day shipping. It will be sent to my apartment. I have a package service where they should leave it in a lock box for me. so hopefully I get it without a probblem.

My gf ordered the gold one at around 12:30, says she has a Oct 5th delivery date. But I wonder if the gold was just selling more quickly.

Yeah i'm excited to have my first Apple watch. I've been on Android for the last handful of years and the watch offerings seem so bad. I got a Fitbit Versa and it's barely functional and can't pair with my phone half the time. The only decentish one i've had is my Gear Fit and even that seems a step down from Apple's.

Watch is the reason I am balls deep in apple ecosystem. I can drop the Iphone for any other phone and not give a shit but the watch and airpods are indispensible for me.

The sprint flex deal with trade-in worked out pretty well. They took $375 for my iphone 7 ($20.84 bill credit over 18 months). I got the 64gb xs for cheaper than the xr would be full price even after the $250 payoff to own after 18 months

Well, even for old models? They used to have an education "store" but now when I select the education link, it just has a page that only shows Macs and iPads.
The education/employee stores are accessible via a separate link. The link I was given by work shows that you can get discounts for iPhone 7 and 8, but not Xr or Xs.

Ordered a 44 al watch and a home pod. I was up at 2 but couldn't find the right card so mid Oct delivery for the watch. It'll be my first smart watch so I'm excited! Trying to talk my love into a Xs so I can have her X and make my 8+ my work phone. My work phone is a 6 and doesn't work right (if I put the headset to my ear the 'buttons' get pushed so I end up muting/pressing numbers/etc) and they won't replace it for another year :/ Not to mention I now cannot stand the screen size.
WML!
Aaannnnd done. Will be nice to have a phone with 256 storage, I'm a cheap ass but she always gets upgraded storage. Her phone (Xs, SG, 256) will arrive 8-21. Yay!

Ordered my Max last night. Man seeing that price at checkout was a wow moment.

Also first time I just payed outright for a phone. I'm done with all these installment plans. I guess it will be nice to not have to make payments on a phone for the first time in a while.

I so miss subsidies.

Not sure what case I am going to get for the XS. I might go silicone again. I liked leather but it always crapped out on me on one drop.

Right? That's kinda what I figured, too. I didn't even look at the shipping estimate when I ordered because I figured it'd be fine. Oops.

I'd cancel and order from AT&T, which has next week shipping options, but I don't want/need cellular.

Honestly kinda surprised it is moving this fast. I suppose I underestimated the demand for a new watch.

I think you greatly underestimated the demand of ... uhm ... 95% of all Series 0 owners.

Our watches have:
* 1000 charging cycles or so (roughly a full cycle each day for 3 1/2 years)
* on a battery that is already 20% smaller than Series 1, 2 and 3 to begin with.
* no upgrade path to WatchOS 5

https://9to5mac.com/2018/09/14/iphone-oled-screen-suppliers/

So if im reading this right, some people will get a device with LG screens, and some with samsung?
please let it be model specific. Otherwise you'll have people buying and returning new phones just because they're somehow convinced that there's a 'superior' supplier, along with posts on Macrumors where they take shitty photos of their screens in the dark "do i have a yellow tint?".

It's so stupid because each of the displays within the same model kind has a natural variance anyway. That's why they're all calibrated at the factory and the entire OS is color managed from end to end.

That Sprint deal was too good to pass up. Ordered a 64GB Space Gray XS this morning. Does anyone have experience pre-ordering a phone from Sprint? Did you get your phone on its release date?

Anyone know a good clear case that is available to buy for the Xs Max? A lot of them don't ship out till after release..

I did the same thing. It's actually cheaper than what I used to pay for my 7.

I was able to cancel my Apple store pickup order and preorder for pickup at Best Buy instead. Now I don't have to drive an hour to go get it next Friday, so happy!

Hey, I'm one of them! My series 0 has treated me well, but it's time to move on. I just figured I'd get 12 hours to get an order in. Luckily, I did at Best Buy.

This all comes right as the temperature is going to start dropping, and I'll start swimming more at the gym again. (Spend most of my time running outside when it's nice.) It'll be rad to keep the watch on when I'm doing laps.
