I mean, Switch has been fine for millions of users so far, adding more stuff to it hardly makes it suddenly a complete and utter failure... Ok yeah that "more stuff" includes paywalling online mp for some games that were free until now but that was known since the beginning so yeah, nobody was calling Switch incomplete so far.

Your subscription can end today, your switch breaks in half tomorrow and when you get a new one, you don't have your data.

For sure. My next hope is that MS make online multiplayer free and put gold and game pass together. That would be huge. Don't know if they ever would though.
