Son of a bitch, my alarm went off for 28 minutes before I heard it! Wtf.
By then, my IUP was showing a 28th-5th delivery. I went for it, but also ordered another in full SIM-free for launch day pickup. I can always return that one when the IUP delivers...

I got an email saying we're processing your order Wxxxxxxxxx (replace with my order num).
Is that the confirmation email you're talking about or should there be one after? I checked and no credit card authorization yet paying with Apple Pay.
That's a bit different. I went with at&t and they sure took their money and ran. Does apple charge right away?
AT&T's site came through better than it ever has, I can actually say I'm impressed with them. Much better than the debacle of me trying to order AirPods from them a year and a half ago.
The Forest Green case pushed me over the edge to getting Gold. It's going to have that Zelda color combo. Leather green and metallic gold are going to go well together.
Now I may need to find a good Lost Woods background for the Lock Screen or something.
I love the color of that case.

Was going to order the 256GB space gray XS but it said I had to pay a $56.16 "early upgrade payment" (since i've made only 11/12 payments so far on my X). So I'm probably just gonna wait until next month when I won't have to.
Ordered the 40mm GPS Aluminum Sport Apple Watch tho. They give $175 trade-in value for my Series 3 so it comes out to $225 basically.

I got the Gold Max too. I think even those with big hands will have to use two hands with this thing haha. I wouldn't worry!
Ordered it minutes after midnight, but won't ship until Oct. 5th at the earliest, and no in-store pickup near me.

Yes. 38mm bands work with the new 40mm and 42mm bands work with the 44mm.

T-Mobile was a shitshow. Cart kept crashing, and down payment changed between adding to my cart and finalizing the order. I chatted with support and they told me the higher down payment was correct. I placed the order, got an error, and had no record of the order in my account. Went back in, now my down payment was what was initially advertised, so I placed a new order. Then I got confirmations for both. I called CS and got the initial order cancelled, I'll check my account in the morning to make sure. But I think I should be locked in for launch day on a 64 GB Silver Xs Max.
I also ordered a GPS 40 mm Space Gray Watch with the Black Sport Loop. I'll be giving my wife my Series 3, since my work will reimburse me for the new watch.

Wow. Kind of a miracle to see ISPU on a day 1 preorder. I expect the pickup line to be a 2 hour boondoggle, but I'm actually impressed Apple had everything up and running on the web store front this time! Possibly the most painless Apple preorder I've been through since the original iPad.
even if the LTE watch were available where i live, i'm not sure i'd be willing to pay for a data plan just to have the ability to receive texts with no proper ability to text back. Like, Siri and the scribbling thing suck.
Also, even when going for a run, i always bring my phone - because sometimes i just like to take pictures when i'm out and about. And during an actual running competition, i don't need to make phonecalls, so ...

if you're already fine with the body size of the Plus phones and want EVEN MORE SCREEN, the XS Max is still a manageable size, since it's about as big as the Plus phones
You can never have enough screen real estate. If you're used to big phones like I was with the 7S or the Note 8 then it's only customary.

The max isn't any bigger than the "plus" phones of earlier generations, it's just the screen that now fills the entire front - and people were happily using "plus" phones before.
Phones of this dimension have been around since the Galaxy Note line, and - on the iOS side - since the iPhone 6plus (2014!) - of course they fit in jeans. The difference is like half an inch in length.

American carriers suck, mine just lets me share my phone plan with my watch for no extra charge.
oh, cool. well, in Austria, the option doesn't exist at all ... so if i could share my phone plan with my watch, i guess i'd go for the LTE model. But 10 bucks a month or more, no way!
Weird. Verizon is just $10 extra a month.
The watch has saved me so many times. I've locked myself out of my apartment so many times which requires key fob access and I will forget my phone inside.
With the watch, I go to the callbox at the apartment and call my number via the callbox and answer on my watch and let myself in :P
don't tell them that our data plans are 10 bucks a month they'll get an aneurism lol

Ordered an Apple Watch LTE through Vodafone. Over the 2 years it's only about £4 more per month than the actual cost (although per month it's more than my sim only contract!)
Will sell my series 3 and use that to finish laying off my iPhone X so my overall cost per month will drop a lot.
Was surprisingly quiet calling Vodafone - straight through and seem no issues with stock. Don't know how it has been with Iphone orders

Yeah, I cannot order because my registered name is too long, so the system will not process it. This shit also happened when I had to buy the iPhone 6.
