14 would actually be exactly as many newcomers as Melee, which is possible. Sakurai said not to expect too many.

I love how the underwhelming reveal of Isabelle has pushed back all expectations. Hope it's the usual bait from Sakurai though, and the next reveal will blow everyone's minds.

I'm starting to think Shadow and Skull Kid will be bosses. I'm thinking Dixie, Elma, a popular Pokemon, and Ken as playable. And then one more third party before launch.

Not being in the morphball for back roll? Rolls have intangibility so its still just an animation change rather than a different mechanic unless you know something I don't.
The wiki seems to just list a bunch of aesthetic changes so I dont think anyones noticed anything significantly different.

Things change, I still remember that leak for Smash 4 which predicted basically everything except Chrom and the Chorus Kids, but there was a lot of evidence implying those two were actually took in consideration for the game and later scrapped (Chrom probably got reworked into Lucina, and there was the Rhythm Heaven enemy in Smash Run, the only franchise represented in the mode without a playable fighter). Vergeben's source probably comes from a time in which Isabelle was indeed an echo, probably 2015/2016 info. Vergeben has been too much on the money to be fluff in my opinion. I guess these leaks simply come from a time in which the roster has been planned, yet not finalized, so a couple of things can change.
Shadow lacked a DLC costume and there isn't a strong rumor he's in.
Dark Samus and Ike had an alt missing. Chrom had a Mii Costume in the last game, as well as Isabelle. Isabelle also had Verge's backing.
Sonic never had a Shadow alt.
They never made a Mii Costume based on him.
I just don't think he's a "lock".

A couple things. He originally said he didn't know if she was an echo or not. Just that she was in. The echo comment was more recent, and honestly at first glance she does seem like an echo... because she's a semi-clone. That's a simple mistake to make and definitely not something that makes him wrong.
He was the first person to talk about Isabelle. And notably, he has never leaked an echo until Ken -- and Ken was only something he started talking about after Isabelle. Therefore, it's safe to say that Vergeben's Smash source was not privvy to echo fighter info and because she clearly has Villager variation moves the source thought she looked like an echo even though she was actually a semi-clone.
This confirmation definitely does not wreck Vergeben's smash credibility.

They still haven't showed him as an assist trophy, and we got Knuckles instead. He's not a lock, nobody truly is, but he's as probable as you can get. Also, don't underestimate the power of Sonic representation among the younger audience. Shadow is pretty damn popular and big as a character.
I love how cartoony and cute Isabelle looks! Man, she looks like the best newcomer in Smash so far....
Regarding echo fighters, I would not be surprised if some of them got a few decent changes besides Chrom. Sakurai seemed to mean it when he says he adjusts abilites and params, especially with Isabelle....

Still don't believe Dante's in the game, unless there's a stage to go with it. We saw the music list and stage list and everything.

Isabelle being in the direct was something I told a bunch of people would happen, but im not going to claim to be an insider.
Who knows now we have to wait until November considering the other leak with dmc5 info Kamiyas tweet pool etc etc dante has Credence but come November it could be nothing .

Interesting. Well hard to know to be sure since this is basically just what Vergeben has been saying (minus the Square rep, which Imran also supports). But he did guess correctly that Isabelle specifically would be the one revealed here. It's possible it was just a lucky guess. That said, the other Dante rumor from the guy who leaked the DMCV stuff still looks strong. So I could see it happening.Oh uh this happened
Seems like the reveal order might be:
October Pokemon Direct - Incineroar revealed.
November Smash Direct - Dante, Ken, and Square rep revealed?
And that could be it for the base game. Which honestly would be great and satisfying, personally.

Honestly the one eerie thing for Dante is that Hideki Kamiya asked in Twitter what outfit Dante should use in Bayo crossover. It was done in same period as Ultimates' character choices. Unless its trademark Kamiya BS it could have been secret way to know which design to use in Smash.

Don't bother. I've given up on telling people that calling character locks a really dumb thing to do. They think someone telling them they aren't a lock is the same as telling them they're not going to be in. lol

This seems like a clear joke vs the Square/Namco rep thing that was clearly an insider hint. Insiders are people who can joke around too. There's a myriad of reasons why Witcher stuff just would never happen in Smash.
I'm starting to jump on the Dante hype train. Not a big fan of DmC but whatever, he's so random I love it. Even better if he gets his classic design instead than the new one he got in Playstation All-Stars. Would be hilarious for Sony fans.
