I guess tinyBuild saw how even Hamster can put their Neo Geo games on sale once in a blue moon, and have now been inspired to hold a sale of their own, their first ever on the Switch eShop IIRC. Most of their games are 20% off but beware that many have been reported to have framerate issues among other problems. Might want to do a little research before pulling the trigger on any of them.

Personally, I won't buy their stuff with the issues. That aside, stuff like party hard won't include the co-op like on PC. Kind of shitty for a Nintendo system. CEO and their Twitter dodged that question for a while. I'd always ask during AMAs. I just don't feel like they put their best foot forward.

After playing some more Wasteland 2, I'm super happy I bought it. I never finished on pc despite kickstarting it, and I've never played the DC. Performance isn't amazing, but it's way better than I expected given how poorly it ran on everything.
The game itself is wonderful - amazing music by Mark Morgan, great writing, great atmosphere. Yeah, it's not a looker - as a CRPG fan that grew up with Ultima, the original Wasteland, Bard's Tale, Might and Magic, graphics are nice, but not super important to me - but it feels and plays amazing. Console controls are surprisingly decent.
It's not for everyone, but it's kind of incredible to have a great CRPG on the go.

Any word on Bastion performance? Solid 60?

"No frame drops present" according to the NWR review:

EDIT: I played a little to test myself in docked, and the gameplay showed no frame drops for me.
(BTW, seems like they implemented HD rumble in the Switch version. Didn't play as much to discover to what extent yet.)

Hey, Wasteland 2 guys... I could never get into Fallout, and I guess the humor is part of the problem. I've just watched NateDrake Wasteland 2 video (thanks, Nate!) and it looks like the game has a more serious tone, which I kind of like (also, the voice acting looks really good). The mood seems more tense and interesting. Am I right or will the game start throwing jokes at me after the first few hours?

I'm holding out for the retail version but I'm as hyped as ever - despite having backed it on kickstarter and having the still-sealed KS edition sitting behind me with digital copies on steam and gog lol

Agreed. Even the sale itself seems lazy. It's a flat 20% off with no regard for original price or when the games were released. Like there's Hello Neighbor that just came out in July ($8 off $40), and Mr. Shifty in April 2017 ($3 off $15). (Meanwhile PS+ members could've grabbed the latter for $4 on PSN a few months ago.)

I was sure Capcom will grab 30 bucks for the collection. But 20 is a steal, not included Nintendo points. Here's hoping Europe will not have to pay the well known extra buck.

It also satisfies my earlier desire for some better arcade beat em ups on Switch to use my sticks. I love Knights of the Round and King of Dragons, honestly wish they'd have just done the Arcade Classics re-released from the PS2 era.

Read reviews on these first on Amazon. PNY is a legit brand of course but lots of folks are getting fakes even when it says ships from and sold by amazon. Kinda scary, and also heard it's really slow.

Personally I'm waiting for this bad boy:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandis...dxc-uhs-i-memory-card/6290819.p?skuId=6290819

Is there any appreciable difference in moving to an A2 MicroSD card? My GoogleFu isn't coming up with any load time comparisons.

At least the 400. But someone was probably waiting. That 256 looks nice.

Level up!

So I just found out on top of those NES controllers being $60, the only way you can order them is if you first subscribe to the online, then order it exclusively through Nintendo.

....eeeehhhhh, I might just wait, then. At the very least, we already have more NES games confirmed for the future. Also yay, River City Ransom is one of the launch 20 games. I wouldn't mind replaying through that. & Ninja Gaiden is neat to see, hoping we see other 3rd parties have their games as part of the service, like Castlevania.

I do hope we get a decent amount of games per month. So far, it seems we could be getting 3 at the least.

So I saw the Arcade Archives Rygar releases today. Didn't the arcade version not let you continue after a certain level? Does anyone know if that will that still happen in the Arcade Archives version, or will there be an option to continue beyond that point?

The teaser trailer looks great, I can't wait to see some gameplay. That massive, hanging, teardrop boob in the keyart does have me a little worried =/ That's just ridiculous.

At least they try to be realistic. There's no way she could stand normally with all that weight, so I assume gameplay is just her falling over all the time.

The poor girl on the left can't afford a skirt with no fabric so she has to constantly pull it down.

I bought it and played the first level.

In the settings "continues" was defaulted to "off" I switched it on before starting so that may resolve the issue you speak of.

Specifically, the game will not allow you to continue after level 20. In fact, I also think it's an automatic game over if you die in the last level. These were the things that made me hesitant from getting the game on Wii's VC as those roms were untouched. I wasn't sure if HAMSTER made alterations to allow you to continue after level 20. I wonder if that "continues" option is what I'm looking for.

No. The manual says once you hit 21 the continues are off.

Just bought Bastion and took a break from playing Battle Chasers (which i just got through a ResetERA trade). Man Nintendo life is GOOD! I feel like the Switch is really picking up steam with all these releases! I can't keep up and my wish list is LONG!

Anyway, about to dig into Bastion for the first time. Excite!

I'm hoping for metal gear 1/2 and Godzilla(as unlikely as it is). Also I'm drowning in games

Just downloaded Cities: Skylines and FFXV Pocket Edition. I have no idea what I'm doing constructing my first city, lol. Will try FFXVPE next before sampling the new Splatoon 2 update.

Missed the Downwell announcement, nice! Slowly but surely, all my favorite Vita indies are making it to Switch.

I thought the Metal Slug (thanks for an actual sale hamster) was dropping frames like crazy on Switch and I was kinda pissed off I paid for it, but then I read that its actually built into the game, so its pretty accurate to the Arcade version with the slowdowns. Interesting.

I'm a huge fan of the 80s Ultima, Wizardry, and Might & Magic games. Given our similar tastes I'm gonna bite. I don't play a lot of modern CRPGs because I feel like they lost something in the late 90s but this game looks like my speed.
