Anyone getting the impression that Nintendo is going pretty hard on Toadette lately? She went from a spin-off tier character, to the secondary character of Captain Toad, to basically running the Post-game in Mario Odyssey, and is now playable in a mainline 2D platformer. Not saying she's a character candidate, but she may be one to keep an eye on for the future (likely packaged with Captain Toad still).
This might be the most confused emotional reaction I've ever seen, haha. She can't decide what to be the whole time.

I don't mind assuming Incineroar is in since I don't particularly care for him. Just like I didn't care for Skull Kid but figured he'd be in before Isabelle got revealed.
I still think this was a result of the delay. Isabelle is a semi-clone, and her trailer was nothing like the others. Looked a lot like it was thrown together quickly. And the big one: no poster update for Isabelle.
I think there was another character who's trailer would have been insensitive to show due to the earthquake and/or hurricane, and in this past week they scrambled. They threw this non-effort trailer together, re-numbered Isabelle, showed no other Smash info, and called it a day. It'll be interesting to see if they keep the poster going from here on out.

Please don't be fucking ridiculous. Isabelle was planned for the Direct because her trailer was tied up to the AC Switch reveal.
This doesn't make any sense. Ridley, K Rool, and Simon didn't get posters either, the Isabelle reveal was obviously always meant to be here to tie into Animal Crossing Switch.

The logical explanation is that she got a boring, low-effort, trailer just because she's only a semi-clone.
Nintendo was heavily criticised for not including any female characters in NSMBU back in the day. It looked especially bad after 3D World including two.
