Beyonce is an undetermined fart in a tornado, compared to Hyuna.
Absolutely not true. Goo Hara from KARA and Junhyung from BEAST dated and they were like the hottest celebrity couple back in the day. This is more of a "I'm the boss, how dare you hide this from me!" which is pretty shitty, even for Cube standards.
It still trails back to fans poisonous expectations, no matter which way you turn it.

Not really? VIPs (Big Bang fans) were pretty suportive of Taeyang's relationship and wedding with Min Hyorin. Same with FT Island Minhwan and former Laboum Yulhee, Girls' Generation Sooyoung and Jung Kyungho or Girl's Day Hyeri and Ryu Junyeol. It really depends on how companies manage the relationship in most of the cases.

I'm suprised that they just fired them now. The dating thing came out a few months ago and it caused some outrage then. Then Edawn took a "break" from his group. Sucks for them that the idol industry has to be this way

I liked that one pentagon song that had the shoot dance in it.and sorry slayveb but from what I've heard of Hyuna her music is god awful.

Well, it looks like the higher-ups fear backlash. Why else would they be concerned about them dating? I'd say the standard no relationship contract and the scenario we have here fits like a glove.

I dont get why this is such a big deal. I am not into the whole idol culture but from what I understand these celebrities are selling an image of purity. If they damage that image it means the company will lose money from fans that care about those things. The company probably looked at the potential loss in revenue and fired them. Its like if a sports star signs an endorsement deal with nike but wears nothing but adidas. Wouldn't the company have a right to rescind and terminate that contract?

I literally explained it. It's not about dating, it's about hiding it from the company. Cube didn't like that, fucked up immensely on how they managed their relationship in the public, literally said "we can't get their trust back" and they're negotiating to leave the company. Fans and the company didn't care about how Pentagon Hui and G-Idle Soojin dated and they're all on the same company.

Students in the Japanese Culture class that I TA just wrote a paper about the Minami incident. They were so shocked and would not believe that this was a thing. I guess now they have one more example. :(

EDIT: This also reminds me of Namie Amuro, after what happened with her they never let her even be seen with a man. And now even though she is about to retire they are relentless at trying to hold her to the single idol standard.

Hyuna build CUBE up from the start. They really think investors will be happy when they dump their biggest solo artist?

This is slightly different. This is like Universal dropping a member of Destiny's Child in their heyday over a scandal. She was part of their biggest girl group and was one of their most successful solo artists. She's been in 3 unique groups (4minute, Wonder Girls, Triple H) and is immensely popular. The company is just being petty.

Cube has handled this entire situation like shit from jump. After the whole BEAST situation and now this I really can't see how any of their remaining artists have any faith left in this trash ass company, especially the remaining members of Pentagon. If the rumors about how Hyuna and E'Dawn found out about it are true then that's even more fucked up.

Yes, it's just like sports stars who have endorsement deals. What's the big deal?
That was sarcasm by the way.

I hear similar stories like this coming out of Japan. It's the dumbest shit. You're delusional if you think these beautiful people aren't having sex just to remain "pure" for their fans.

Hyuna? Hyuna the STI of 4 Minute?

Korean Beyonce?

If you think that Beyonce is a mildly unattractive, corporate sex doll who hides self-induced abortions in jam jars under the bed in her high rise concentration camp for fear of being fired then I guess that's your choice.

They kicked out one of the backbone money makers of their company. A company in which a lot of people were losing faith in and were upset with how they handled the disbandment of 4Minute and how they kicked out Beast, another one of their popular groups. She made them money, she saved them from bankruptcy, she was the face of the company for 9 years and this is how they choose to treat her. Like a disposable piece of garbage instead of a person. The decision to do this was mind numbingly stupid and caused their stocks to drop and they are still in the red up to this very moment. They found some success with their new girl group and their new-ish boy group finally got a hit song a couple of months ago but after this whole debacle there are a lot of people changing their minds about supporting these artists since a lot of the money they make off of albums goes to Cube. They might be ok without her financially but their reputation is ruined now.

I would also add the majority of fans of both of these individuals were supportive of them dating in the first place. There are delusional people against it but they are in the minority.

Not to mention that they didn't even talk to them about the dating thing at all and painted both Hyuna and E'Dawn as terrible despicable liars who are sooo mean to the company instead of taking the L for not doing what they were supposed to do in this scenario.

What makes it even more surprising is that Cube has cultivated an image of her that isn't really "Innocent" anyway.
