Nintendo have a huge success story with the Switch - healthy sales, most of their key franchises on board (Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Yoshi, Kirby, Metroid and now Animal Crossing), creativity (Labo), amazing Nindies (too many to name) and great games coming in the future.

They pump out Direct after Direct with new announcements, no on stage embarrassing junk, concise information and several "megatons" etc.

Yet people still write them off, predict doom and gloom, huff because their favourite franchise hasn't yet been announced and pour scourn over every little negative thing they do. They are far from perfect and in many ways are behind the times (online especially). But as a gamer that grew up with them in the 80s I am happy with the direction they are heading in.

This is a far cry from the barren Wii U days and the future looks great. Please keep trolling us Nintendo, I like the new cocky you!

I'd be lying if I said I was super hyped about that direct - just no games for me. (I spent the second half going 'oh man they have X minutes left to show something Y' )

But there are a ton of people who would absolutely love that direct and every single game shown in it.

It comes with the territory, same thing with E3. Whenever you're constricted by time, you can only ever please so many people.

I frankly don't know what the people who are disappointed were expecting.

Just because a game was leaked didn't mean there gonna replace it with something else. We got more details on games coming out and three new titles.

I have no idea what people wanted.

Most I wanted was Bayonetta 3 but hey that's what the Game Awards are for.
