So, well over 2 million for September NPD

Well I cleared that up in another post. I'm referring to WW performance for Spidey besting GoW

I still think its going to in the US as well but there isnt even a full week of data yet. Give me another week or so before I can feel the US NPD launch is bigger being locked in

I enjoy the unexpected, like PS4 beat Switch or Xbox One beat PS4. But likely will be NSW>PS4>XBO this month.

Still, NPD day is always exciting. Hoping for a good second month for Octopath.

NPD and a direct on the same day? Fun times. Shame I'm about to finish night shift and desperately need some sleep.

Edit: oh next week. Well there's still the direct!

Is there any chance to see sony has purchased Insomniac Games? after the HUGE seccess of Marve's Spider-Man i believe it's very likely and would be tight answer to recent microsoft studios' purchases.

They're probably signed up on a multiple game deal as it is. Sony opened a new VR focused studio in Manchester 18 months ago and are building a new AAA studio in San Diago. We haven't heard anything official about either beyond job postings.

Honestly I don't think Sony needs to respond to what MS did. That was MS trying to play catch up first party wise. Sony's first party is already way ahead.

I dont think Insomniac wants to got first party so highly unlikely
Why not? they made alot of exclusives for playstation to date, more than any other second-party studios afaik. it would be a fantastic opportunity for them to join to sony's legendary first parties and have all the fantastic supports/budgets to make everything they want under sony's flag. Rejection of such a proposal like this is the biggest mistake that can be made by Insomniac games IMO.

Not necessarily. Being independent and working with different partners is a good thing too.

On the other hand, Sony and Insomniac already have a great partnership and can hit each other up whenever they want really. The plus side is that Sony doesn't have to put out money to acquire talent they already work closely with and Insomniac gets to maintain their independence. It works out quite well the way it is now.

Insomniac's top 2 most successful games (Ratchet and Clank and Spider-Man) are with Sony. They not going anywhere.

Because maybe they dont want to be locked into what Sony wants them to do?

Being independent allows them the creative freedom to do whatever they want. And they aren't exactly strapped for cash

It's so weird that people keeps repeating this thing about Insomniac being bought. Ted has said that everyone at Insomniac loves their current position as an Independent studio and has no intention to change that.

it's weird that people think Spider Man makes it likely that Insomniac will want to be bought by Sony when Spider Man literally exists as-is right now meaning Insomniac is already in a great spot. I'm sure Spider Man 2 is already a go. what more could they want at this point in time?

Sony and Insomniac partnership is absolutely great, no doubt but when almost all of your outputs and 2 most successful of them are PS exclusives why not join publisher? they already have/had an unprecedented freedom in Spider-Man project, right? in terms of sale, the worst selling Rachet and clank version still sold way better than their multiplatform games like Fuse!

But they already had unprecedented freedom in spider-man project. i think Insomniac can produce much more multi million triple-a titles under sony's flag rather than to be independent and making games like Fuse or even Susnet Orverdrive which commercially almost was a failure.

It seems like the worst time to buy insomniac. After making Spider-Man I'd imagine they have more bargaining power than ever.

Why would Sony fork a 9 figure worth of cash to buy a studio they have easy access to? and why would Insomniac which are now living in their best time ever with Spider-man locked down plus VR titles and maybe a new R&C sell themselves? Both parties Sony and Insomniac are happy where they're now.

While I think you're right, they don't want to become a first party developer, a dev with the track record of Insomniac becoming a Sony first party dev would likely not dramatically restrict their creative freedom in really... any way. But even that being said, the point still stands.

So that Smash bundle launching in November...

along with Pokemon...

Yeah I really don't see Switch not selling the most this November. Nintendo set themselves up good this holiday.

Regarding leaks, if they aren't posted tomorrow then we probably won't get them. It happened one month before so don't expect them all the time. Probably the best advice.

Amazing

Wish I could say more about Spidey, because well it's doing God damned phenomenal, but PR is coming soon anyways

As good as you think the few physical charts you've seen are......its not the full story. Not even close
And it didn't hit 90 on MetaCritic.

Damn...
