Fuck yes! I was just asking about the Katamari series the other day. Great timing. Day One.

In excited for this regardless, but I hope it comes to all platforms and generates enough interest for new titles.

I don't really understand why you'd choose the first game to remaster when Katamari Forever exists. Release that.

I've been waiting years to replay this game, I need this for a platform I own though, but I'm happy it's at least coming out in some capacity!

I am so fucking pumped. The original Katamari has one of the best OSTs of all time. I'd love if success spurred re-releasing We Love Katamari and Katamari Forever too. I even play that endless runner mobile game from time to time.

I went from HOLY SHIT YES to IS THIS A JOKE within less than a minute.

HD remaster of the original

Remaster of THE FIRST ONE a.k.a. the least polished, very underwhelming compared to the sequels (Even Katamari PSP is better regardless of the shitty controls). I could do with I love Katamari but this?

Good for anyone who never tried the series, I guess. But a definite NO from me.

Damn this brought back memories of me playing a Katamari game on PS2 (it was either this or We Love Katamari, probably the latter). Will definitely pick this up for Switch if it doesn't come out for XB1 or PS4.

I'm in the boat of wanting more information. I can play it on Switch, but having it on more platforms is always better. I'm surprised Bandai Namco haven't put up their own trailer yet, most things like this end up having the involved party put up their versions of the trailers almost immediately.

100% confirmed original remastered?

I'm pretty cool with that if they can get all of the original soundtrack back. The subsequent ones were always weaker IMO.

Also, if they could add an ETERNAL mode to Roll Up the World that would be nice.

I played the original earlier this year via UD PSN, but Katamari Damacy is perfect for the occasional portable blast, so I might double dip for a change

I prefer We Love Katamari more than the original though.

A little sad it's not more substantial, mostly because the first one is the one I've put the most time into and I hadn't had a chance for the Vita one at all, but the JP version is retailing at 3200 yen (~30 USD), so hopefully the NA version will be similarly priced

Nice.

btw there's no way this is exclusive to Switch for those that are asking. It would have been stated as such in the Direct if it were.

This series legitimately makes more sense on a handheld than just about any other Namco franchise.

Hoping it comes to everything else as well. Would be awesome to see them remake all the past mainline games too.

Those graphics certainly don't look like a remaster, more like an up-res.

Would still buy if it comes to the PS4 with everything intact, including OST.
