I've been wondering about this ever since I played the game, I always thought that the Insomniac suit looked ugly ever since the reveal trailer, so knowing that you could unlock the classic suit early on and beat the game with it got me even more excited for the game, and I did exactly that when I played the game, did a few sings and side quests with the Scarlet Spider suit but overall, I can definitely say for sure that most of my time in the game's first playthrough was with the classic suit on.



Don't mention suit spoilers or story spoilers, this thread is just for discussing which of the suits that you could unlock early on (with the exception of Homecoming's?) players chose to beat the game mostly with. If the suit you mostly played with isn't in the poll then vote for the other option and post it here, as long as it doesn't spoil anything.

(Not sure if this thread is allowed with the game not being a month old yet, but I'm more interested in seeing poll numbers so posting this question in the OT wouldn't be ideal, but close it if it's so).

In order of most use to least use.

Stark Suit > Advanced Suit > Stealth Big Time Suit > Final Suit > Dark Suit

I used the Scarlet Spider suit for most of the game, then switched to the Advanced Suit about halfway through Act 2. I finished up the game with the Vintage Suit that you unlock at level 41.

The good thing about using the other suits is that the game doesn't really go out of its way to point out that you're using the wrong one in the story, except for that one scene where it shows a newspaper with a pic of Spider-Man with the Advanced suit on it (and a small scene that's a bit spoilersh), other than that, whatever suit you're using might as well be the canon one. And the NPCs don't reference the Advanced suit at all (other than Otto when he gave it away early on), that kinda surprised me, but I'm happy for it.

Been rocking the Stark suit most of my playthrough.

Only other suit that's grabbed my attention besides that one is the Iron Spider suit.

Homecoming - Advanced Suit, both used during daylight.

Dark Suit - used during nightime (used Noir when I didn't have the Dark suit).

Iron Suit - used for the third act.

I keep switching between Classic, Stark and Homemade.

I think I've used Homemade the most. It just looks so damn good.

Used Velocity until I got the Black suit, then switched to 2099 and then 2099 (white).

Stark suit looked amazing and lifelike, that was the clear choice as soon as I had access to it. Going in, I expected to use one of the other pre-order bonus skins but I went all the other way after seeing the Stark suit.

I did play most story missions while in the advanced suit. But used Homecoming, classic, punk and Scarlet a lot while just swinging around doing stuff in the city.

Jeez, surprised that Stark is in the lead.. I thought that most would've went with the classic lol.
Guess they really should've made it unlockable a bit more earlier.

Homemade? Surely you're talking about Homecoming?
Not that I hated Homemade.. but it kinda looks weird in the context of a veteran Spider-Man during the story mode.

I'll definitely replay it with another suit when NG+ comes out.
It bothered me a little, that MJ or Miles didn't mention the change, but it's not that important I guess.

I'm sticking with Advanced Suit during the story for immersion, but as soon as I finish I'll probably be mostly in the Stark Suit. It looks sooo clean and I really think it's one of the best Spider-Man designs ever (which is a sharp contrast from the wack ass suits from the previous Spider-Man films).

90% of the black suits in this game will never be worn, though. I hate them joints.

The Homecoming suit. I sometimes change to the main one due to big story missions, but man, the fabric on the Homecoming suit is so realistic.

As soon as I unlocked the Stark Suit I've been using that. Haven't beaten the game yet but I cannot imagine I'll switch. Color palette is my favorite of the basic Spidey suits.

Stark Suit, but I did switch to the Noir one every now and then. Was hoping for the Iron Spider outfit from the animated series but I was content with what I got.

There are even more! I'm disappointed that they missed that one particular suit, but other than that, the game absolutely delivered in terms of unlockables and then some.
But the suit I was looking forward to is probably a lock in the sequel ;)

In the beginning, the classic suit. But I've been using the stark suit since I unlocked it.

The way I did the whole suit thing was as follows. As soon as I got the main one, I switched to classic. As soon as I got Stark, I switched to that.

THe way I played was using Stark Suit for all story quests, while randomly using other suits for side content. I did change to another very late game costume for a few last missions, not counting the very very last one.

Homecoming Suit

Not only did it make me realize that it's one of the best Spidey costumes ever, but it looks way better than most of the other suits, it isn't as bright as the others.

I love idea of Spiderman having a hoodie, aerdynamics be damned, but not down all the time, and also stupid belt and arm bracers just ruin scarlet spider suit for me unfortunately. Spider Gwen game when? Arguably best spider-person design alongside stark and classic.

Homecoming all the way, it looks fantastic.

Iron Spider was such a disappointment, visually speaking.

Advanced suit looks the best IMO and it fits with the rest of the world design. The others look strange and out of place to me.

I haven't beaten it yet but so far it's been the Scarlet Spider suit for most of my time though I've also rocked the gold & black one as well as the Stark suit.
