Anyone give me a clue how far in the story I am? I might have overdid all the optional stuff and I'm starting to feel burnout, so I might wanna fast track it to end game.

Doc Ock just did his juggling act with his robotic arms, about to go see Miles at his first day at the job at FEAST.

Suits and whatever I need for thropies are my goals

nothing trophy related for the gadgets (fortunately) just the suits!

Around mid Act 2 I'd say

Best the game two nights ago. Spent yesterday doing some aide missions and bases. Think I'm going to stop now though. Wanted the platinum but don't feel like doing all that boring shit for it. Only have a handful of side missions, a few bases and then a lot of those crime things in each district.

Great game. I was hyped, reviews looked good. Then I saw a bunch of gameplay and it didn't look as good as I thought it would. Picked it up anyway and am very glad I did.

If the dlc has enough content I'll definitely be back for more.

then again we need to remember that the target audience aren't just players who've been playing games for 25 years like we do. there totally are kids and early teens playing this game and enjoying those kinds of stuff.

I appreciate what you're saying, but between the backpacks, the communication towers, the bases, pigeons, etc. there's plenty of throwaway, checklist style objectives.

There's barely a dozen side missions in the game, they could have done a bit more to make them stand out.

I know I sound entitled and I feel guilty moaning after enjoying a lavish, no expenses spared, campaign. But it's just disappointing.

I don't mind the aforementioned activities, or the random crimes, but at least make the side missions good.

It's even more annoying that you have to wait for time-of-day loading screens to bog off to take out half a dozen possessed university kids.

Agree with you on the side quests. It's my only disappointment with the game. Would have loved for them all to be multipart quests that ended in a villain fight. Here's hoping they shape those up in the next one. Other then that I didn't have a problem with the backpacks (they had fun lore stuff tied to them), towers or random crimes.

If you want to do civilian quest things those should be tied to something else. Maybe a in world activity like how GTA and Red Dead handle them.

So I had my first random demon crime and got stomped in the dirt in like five seconds. Do they get easier as you upgrade stuff? I mean I'm already level 10 and have three gadgets and several suits. I'm not fantastic at these type of fighting games but I've gotten a little better as the story has progressed here

Any game with character progression always gets easier. If you want try unlocking the classic suit and equip the web blossom ability. It takes out large groups of dudes with ease.

I think I used Web blossom twice and that was it. The first Suit Power with faster focus was my go-to.

They're supposed to be a real threat but all their attacks are heavily telegraphed and the Spidey Sense should tell you when to get out of Dodge.

Is it just me or does it seem really hard to dodge those guys' attacks specifically? I feel like I see the Spidey Sense warning, hit the dodge button, and the guy's attack either follows me and hits me anyway, or he just warps to me and hits me again before I can do another dodge. Is there something I'm missing?

Yea, they hit fast and hard and do it 3 times in a row. Once you get used to the timing,t hey're easy to dodge.

Eh I don't find web blossom that great to be honest. Part of it is I don't get the meter charged up as often as I should (I suck and get hit a lot lol) but also it only seems to keep them tied up enough for me to get a couple hits in on one guy

I'm pretty sure the dodge has no invincibility frames (or they are very short). If you arent good at it, then just run away

You need to web them up near walls and stuff and it's an instakill. Also webbed enemies can be thrown with hold triangle if you throw them at the wall or on the ground it's also an instakill

I got the platinum last night. It was pretty good, but wow going to each district and doing 5 of each crimes was grueling.

Funny enough in the end I had almost forgot about the suit's special effects. I feel they are much more important in the early stages when you don't have the skills and gadgets. And even then I tend to use the special attacks only as last option.

I always forget about the wall bit. Probably cause I'm nervous and bouncing around like crazy. I'll need to practice that more often

No one really answered about the demons though. They're meant to be a later stage so dude mission right? They just seem far more difficult vs the thugs or regular guys

The demon crimes just appeared all of a sudden, I don't remember them getting a "formal" introduction like the other map items. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that they don't get easier and they ramp up as you get further into the game.

But yes you can get a demon group early on with a few machine-gun toting demons with two brutes. Gotta get up in the air and do crowd control via gadgets, finishers, ground pound, throwing them, whatever you can do to spread them out and thin them out.

About the demons, it's hard to say unless you are specific about what you are having problems with. One thing that helps is staying in the air and pulling enemies to you and mastering the air dodge for gunshots

Yeah I haven't really been doing much air work cause I didn't know if it would trigger the crime failing like if I got too far away. Guess I'll have to get on that. So I guess it's worth it to invest in the skill that allows you to jump and pull people up?

Basically the machine gun guys are firing too quickly for me to even get in any moves on the other guys (nevermind the shield toting ones) so I was just getting hammered. It was only one encounter so hopefully I'll be a little more prepared next time

I was fine with all the side quests until I got to Act 3:

(late game spoilers for the beginning of Act 3)
Adding both prisoner and Sable crimes to every district on top of Thug and Demon Crimes is just ridiculous. I thought I was pacing myself pretty well with doing all the optional crimes but getting all that dumped on me was a fun killer. Thankfully I've already cleared out backpacks, landmarks, and the Fisk and Demon bases so I've only got a few odds and ends left that aren't crimes, but wow that's a poor late game decision. Especially since on top of that I now am being shot at all the time while swinging around the city. I get they were going for an Arkham-like climax but it was honestly more fun just swinging around the city and occasionally stopping a crime or two over having Manhattan go full No Man's Land.

I assume I'm getting near the end?

just got rescued by miles and mj, which was a really weird scene because no other point in the game has spidey seemed tired.

Boss fight:

I really enjoyed the Electro / Vulture boss fight. Just completed it last night, and while it was simple, it felt really cool swinging around, dodging attacks and countering. Really wish there were more fights like this in the game up to this point.

Anything in particular you're having difficulty with? Seeing this video helped me with combat. It's much more fun playing like this and really just going wild and zipping around.

For swinging, I think mastering the perch point boost is integral, as well as knowing when to web zip.

Thanks! I'm struggling with maintaining flow in combat and swinging. Lol

Just got the game and played for a few hours and I'm loving it. I'm playing on hard so the combat took some getting used to and now I'm pretty decent at it. Swinging through the city is amazing.

They begin appearing after the Gallery Mission, I believe. Or at some point in the story when they become a presence

The suit power time to charge is not tied to you hitting people, it's pure time to charge.

If you are only getting singular hits on people webbed up, you really need to start air juggling (hold Square).

Yes, you're right...I should clarify it's not the Demons that don't get a formal intro, they definitely do. I just don't remember the Demon crimes being announced by Yuri or someone, but the Demons may have mentioned it during one or two of the story missions. I'll have to go back and look after I finish this playthrough and start another one. Thanks!

I actually use the uppercut square move quite a bit but watching a video someone just posted seems to help. I haven't been staying airborne enough and jumping between enemies. Seems like one or two hits on one then jump to the next is a good strategy. I've been spending all my time on one guy until he's dead then moving on. It was leaving me open too often

Can also use webshooters in mid-air, which slows time a bit. After, you can throw the enemy into a wall or something so they stick. Pretty quick disposal method.
