Senran Kagura Reflexions released on Switch today...and it sucks

Here's a serious review of the product. uhhh yeah NSFW

Anyway, Im actually a fan of the series and have platinumed pretty much every title so far (since they're easy to do) but this game seems to focus on the weakest aspect of the series (yeah I know what the games are) which is the "Sexy" modes.

I like the SK games because they're fun, mindless beat em/hack n slash brawlers with actually fun gameplay and mechanics (and I only read porn for the articles too!) The "sexy" modes are always a drag, because first of all they're just plain bad, and wierd and really dont make sense in the context of the characters or personality (unless katsuragi is the one behind the creepy mickey mouse hands in the dressing room mode) They dont really control well either and is also rather boring.

It's interesting to see the previous titles, which have actually reviewed rather well (the cooking rhythm game was alright, not that great) and for a game in this series to finally focus on the "sexy" part of the series do rather poorly..

They should have ported over Peach Beach Splash to the switch instead, It does Splatoon better than splatoon.

Also it only stars Asuka, and no one else....although there is DLC for interactions with a garbage can or something, not sure, its not worth it.

This'll get locked because we can't talk about this game here but yeah the amount of playable content the game has takes about 15 minutes to get through.

Be kinda said if the best SK related thing on the Switch ends up being Cross Tag Battle.(if those rumors are true.)

Between this, the Senran Kagura cooking game, SNK heroines and VR Kanojo, developers have realized that as long as they make their game smutty, they don't have to be good. They can be actively bad and people will still buy them for the prospect of anime titties.

Thats why it's good to have a discussion on it, the previous games all had that in it, not to the same degree as this one...however they all reviewed pretty highly in spite of it. This one....is just shallow in every aspect of the word.

Real talk, the SK games haven't been trying to hit that semi-competent level of quality for a while now. Estival was the last decent one, the rest are all terrible, but their fanservice is through the roof. And that's why people are buying these games.

Spinoffs for different genres and gameplay types because I think they realize they're not going to catch or match Omega Force when it comes to making Musou games.

The problem is those spinoffs are bad. Like, bad rhythm game, bad dating sim, bad 3rd person shooter, soon to be bad pinball, but if you wanna oggle some anime titties...they've got you covered.

And like, it's not like Estival is GOOD, it's halfway decent. It still has major problems with this like hitstun and enemy invincibility, but you can see what they're going for. Everything after that just feel like cash grabs.

Oh I agree. I want to discuss it because it is awful and it's unfortunate because this franchise has some decent stuff for as trashy as it can look. I'm just saying, if it's like the other threads, expect a lock.

Yeah, Burst is a remake and it looks really good. I think it's out later this year.

yeah i've seen videos....what sucks is the pinball game looks fun...but unlike most games in the series...you cannot escape the fetish parts....because it's literally the main focus of the screen for the entire game. like goddamn....

It's like...real talk...you can't have an actual discussion about Senran Kagura without talking about how the core concept of the game is to strip girls ages 13-22 (with an average of 16) nude in various ways. Just to be clear, what you're talking about isn't pedophilia ... A pedophile has an interest in prepubescent children, so generally under 11 or 12 - that's a totally different thing. I see the word thrown around like a frisbee until it loses meaning. You're taking about statutory issues, which is still valid, and the sexualization of minors is gross ... Look I'm not going to get into a conversation about pedophilia vs ephebephilia alright. Both aren't okay in most countries which is why games that revel in that sort of things are looked down on by this forum.
