...I'll stand thanks. Or lean against a wall if need be. Not really interested in wearing these just to be able to sit down in spots that weren't meant for sitting...

I think they look cool when folded up. I'm ONLY interested in wearing these and not using them to sit down.
Ok, now that I could get behind. I am all for unnecessary mechanical appendages being worn for aesthetic sake. Personally, I'll wait for the Invader Zim-style spider legs to become a thing before I start wearing exoskeleton bits for now though.

I was thinking this might've been good for old people or people in poor health (like balance issues, fatigue, dizziness), but not sure if it's stable enough for them... even though it apparently can carry more weight than I would've imagined (120 Kilograms / 264 lbs according to the Kickstarter).

I don't quite see why a healthy person would need this.

Just thought it was a funny tagline they used. No idea how many exoskeletons are on KS lol.

Functional cyberpunk accessories!
you said you just want it for the look though right? i'll sell you a weight belt with a bunch of erector set parts zip-tied to it for 100$! that's a steal compared to this!

What.... "Most funded exoskeleton on kickstarter"

Exoskeleton? You've strapped a folding chair to your ass. What happens when you get on public transportation... "Here, leme unstrap myself"

It looks absolutely pointless for the everyday person... Maybe someone in a very specific circumstance can use this, but otherwise I'd say it's a hard pass from me.

hmm, could be good for VR right?

Edit: hmm, trying to figure out where most of the pressure will go while sitting, and it would seem you get a lot of the pressure on your thighs through the straps? not optimal, blocking blood flow.

"The most useless thing to be founded on Kickstarter" should be the title.

Who thought this would be a good idea ? The fuck ?

Then you get someone trying it that's too heavy or leans in a specific manner and it buckles. Looks like that could be quite a brutal occurrence.

If they manage to make that a non issue and still make it comfortable to sit with then it's a cool idea, still don't really see a need for it in most situations to warrant having it strapped to you the whole time.

Purely for aesthetic purposes though? Run wild and free. Visually the folded set looks awesome.

Heh, if you're under the weight limit you can most likely stand with ease for hours. If not, then practice by staying off yo ace.

People are so lazy.

I could however see this being useful in the very specific scenario of partly disabled people.

I like the idea a lot, I think the product is real and can really work well. However yeah, it is a somewhat a solution in search of a problem. Still they're cool as hell.

So you have to unstrap it, take it off and carry it when you want to sit on an actual seat?

This thing has zero reason to exist, what a waste of everyone's time and money.

I wonder if a version of this could be useful for the elderly who cannot walk far without stopping to rest.

As long as a train wasn't completely full of people and this was taking up room, I wouldn't be mad about someone using this to sit down if all the seats were taken.

Main problem with this is when you're put in a situation where you have to sit in a normal seat, I don't think wearing this that you'd be able to do that.

They need to make the legs foldable to your side so that you could move them out from behind you when you need to sit somewhere while wearing it (IE on a bus, I mean you can't bloody park this in the middle of the aisle).

I guess I can see an application for assembly workers on piece production. For example aircrafts. They can easily walk around and up and down the aircraft and sit down whenever they perform a prolonged activity. But this thing is beyond stupid in day to day use.

As a cook who is on his feet for 8 hours continuously every day, I could definitely see a desire and use for the product.

Just kinda a small one.

You have to fold/unfold them by hand? Pfft, needs to have some motors to do everything for you. I mean if you're going for the lazy market you might as well go the whole way.

Than this isn't for you.

My wife has nerve issues in her legs. She can walk for a long time no problem, but standing in place for more than 5 min used to be excruciating (luckily post surgery on both legs it's now like 15 min). The pain would get worse after said five min to the point we had to bring a wheelchair or Walker with a seat on trips.

Even trips to the grocery store could lead to 8 hours of horrible pain let alone issues when traveling or concerts etc. If this works I gladly would have paid five times the price for them when she was at her worst.

This would have avoided us having to do that.

I think assembly workers would need it to be ready at all time rather than being used manually with both hands.

Maybe a portable folding stool would also be an alternative if there are specific times when you'll need to sit without a place available.

Is there anything similar to this already? I just like it as some technical looking wearable but if it provides actual utility to people who need it beyond just more comfort then that's good.

Though since these are just providing a seat, couldn't you bring along a small foldable stool type thing instead of a wheelchair? I see people with those at events sometimes.

That still needs to be folded, only with one hand.
Also, you don't need to fold the legs on the LEX. They will move around, but you can move with them out.

Not that I've seen that didn't suck.

Alot of places will obviously allow a wheelchair or Walker but would no way in hell let you bring in a folding chair or stool (it's also impractical vs something you wear).
